Do the Dragonboxes colors look any better on OLED?

Post by Ringworm128 » Sat Jun 02, 2018 3:43 am

One thing many people note about the Dragonbox release of the series is that the colors look fairly faded and pale. However I noticed when watching on a CRT via component the colors seemed to be a tad less washed out.

I was wondering if the same was true of an OLED TV? If there's anyone here who owns one, how do the Dragonbox DVD's look when upscaled properly?

I don't know about OLED, but this is what the Dragon Boxes look like via svideo on a Sony PVM, it looks sharp as a tack and very colorful in my opinion. And the scanlines makes it feel like watching it in the 90's.

I dont think it's so much that they faded but changed colors and gained a red tint. A tv won't fix this

Film fades into a reddish tint. Toei didn't intentionally change the colors to make it more red, they just neglected to do anything about the problem.

No, why would it? It's fiction. The strength of the characters is not possible to reach in reality.
I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply they changed the colors just that they changed and the didn't fix it.
