Get 360. It's much cheaper.

The cutscenes look real nice, but the game itself doesnt look fantastic.

Definately not worth me upgrading to Nextgen yet.

The graphics are beautiful. Reminds me of the original Budokai's graphics, which I thought were seriously better than any of the games' graphics that followed it. The cut scenes are reminiscent of the original Budokai as well, and that game has no contest with any of the other Budokai or Sparking! games when it comes to the quality of those.

Anyone manage to figure out the name of the new song? It's on the bottom of the screen on the trailer, but I can't read Japanese, so...
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

The title of the song is 奇跡の炎よ燃え上がれ!! (kiseki no honoo yo moeagare!!) It could be translated as "Flare Up, Miraculous Fire!!"

I just noticed something about this game... In the trailer there is nothing shown regarding the Buu Saga. I hope that they're not lowering the bar [when compared to the "Sparking!" Series] with the excuse that it's a next-gen game. It may look great and all, but the graphics still don't feel "right" to me. Not to mention that at this point in time it looks like we're getting a next-gen version of the first Budokai. :/

Sure, we may not be seeing characters beyond the Cell arc, but I'd hardly call this "Next-Gen Budokai 1". The trailer clearly shows teleport countering and moves that were not introduced until later in the series. I think it's safe to assume that this will feature a gameplay engine similar to Budokai 3, if not even more refined. As long as it keeps the the combo system from 3, or refines it, I'll be happy.

Please tell me that was a joke.
Get 360....
If you like having only three exclusive games that aren't crap.

All right people, time to collaborate and post a list of who we know is confirmed in the game thus far. I read somebody said Nail was in a screenshot, but I don't see him anywhere....

I haven't seen the screenshot, but someone said it was likely that it was just an alternate outfit for Piccolo like in previous Budokai games. I dunno though, if they're gonna bulk up the roster, then adding him and the rest of the Ginyu Force would be the way to go.

I'd personally like to see about 30-40 characters, all which fight significantly different. Maybe some obscurities, but not as far as "Apple" and "Freeza Soldier"... hopefully at least one character that hasn't been in a versus fighter before.

Aha, thanks. Sorry, I've been out of it for awhile. I feel extremely stupid now.

I agree. Super Dragon Ball Z did everything that Sparking! couldn't do with it's massive roster by only having a few characters that each played significantly different. Doing the same thing for Burst Limit would be a great idea, and it would keep the repetitiveness of the increased character numbers and new characters which fight like everyone else down to a minimum.

Post by ggg » Thu Dec 27, 2007 2:34 pm

Okay, I looked at these forums and it mentions online for 1 and 2 players.

But where in the world was this confirmed?

Depending on which 360 package you get, that may or may not be a true statement. I'd say go with the PS3 for reliability, and for the fact that it's region free.

Graphics are awsome, but leaving buu "for the next burst limit"
is something called backsteps.

Half dragonballz games were good when the series were still going up,
today it is hard to swallow the idea. That is why I didn´t bought the
first budokai and that is why I pass if this game goes the same..

Honestly, I hadn't. I had no idea the first post was changed around to be an informational post.

Of course it's cheaper, it's crappier. :P If I ever do get this it'll be for the PS3 because I'll own a PS3 before a 360. There's a grand total of.... 2 360 games that are any good. 3, if you count BL. Meanwhile I've got about 14 PS3 games I want.

This is not going to be a 360 vs PS3 thread. If you want to do that, get out.

Thanks.

I'm pretty much sold on this game but I only ask 2 things of Dimps, one of them from just being a PS3 owner.

1. Have 1080i/p HD support for the PS3 version. I have an older CRT model HDTV that only does 480p and 1080i and I really don't want to have to play this game in 480p. The 360 version having it is pretty much guaranteed to because I think every game on the system does.

2. If this game does only go up to the Cell arc and a sequel with the Buu (and maybe GT?) stuff is made, please put the awesome looking cutscenes in it as well! I loved Budokai 2 back in the day but I was sooo disappointed that it didn't "finish the story" that was started in Budokai 1 with cutscenes.

By the way, I love that new song. In my opinion it kicks Super Survivor's ass.
