The Many Faces Of Krillin

Post by SpiritBomb » Sat Jun 12, 2004 11:21 pm

Actually..just two that I'm gonna talk about. So, me and my friend were talking about Krillin, or Kuririn if you prefer, right after the episode after the end of the Cell saga a long time ago. We were talking about his change, and not just the hair. You see,she was saying how worried she was that it would no longer be the funny, loveable guy as usual. Now he would no longer be trying to get girls, but become a family man...with hair.

Any thoughts?

I would have to disagree with your friend. The Boo era Kuririn is just as cool and loveable as he was before, and infact his marriage to 18 seemed to give his character more depth. He wasn't a hopeless, dateless loser anymore like Tenshinhan and Yamucha. And he got married to 18 of all women, how cool is that? 8)

Well, I always wish he kept up with Goku. Remember that robot pirate? Their moves were identical at one point! If Kuririn could have slightly kept up, I'd love that.

I like his new look, though. It's spiffy. Marrying #18 and settling down was great, but it would have been nice if he could have stayed as strong as Non-SSJ Goku. And even though I didn't pick one of the direct choices given on how Kuririn should be (Nobody asked me to bitch about his strength...), that's how I want him.

He still fights atleast, we gotta give him that. I mean, even Yamcha's voice actor said he was a loser! I was reading Beckett DBZ Collector and when they interviewed the guy, all he could talk about was him being a loser.

What do you like about your character?
He's a funny guy, although he's a loser

What do you hate about your character?
He's such a loser

...and so on and so forth.

If there is ever a DragonBall GT live action movie, Jason Alexander would make a great old Krillin :)

It really wouldve been nice if Krillin kept up with Goku. I guess that place was taken by Uubu.

Uubu has nothing on Krillin. Krillin just has a certain thing about him. Maybe it's that Uubu's new and Krillin isn't, but i prefer Krillin.

Saying that though, it maybe nice that he's settled down with #18 and had a daughter, but i would have preffered he didn't. The whole womanisingness of his was funny, and that's something that won't happen anymore. :(. That's actually really sad.....hmmm....

You would've rather seen Kuririn grow old without a family, reconfirming his worst fears that he would die alone, and a dateless loser? That seems awfully unfair just to keep him as comic relief. Besides, watching him interact with 18 is just as funny.

depends on the woman, we're all different after all. I'd like to see you turn Julie Andrews into a heartless bitch. lololololol. But that's going off topic.

Dayspring we'll "discuss" this opinion of yours alone later.

Anyway, I agree with Deus. I thought it was great when Kuririn married #18 and I love the way they are with one another. I think he's still just the same in the Buu saga. And their interactions in movie 11 was about the only thing I enjoyed about that movie. Plus having a wife and child to deal with created a new dimension to his character.

I'm a big fan of Krillin and 18 doujinshi, since the stories usually portray their relationship in a very nice, gushy, touching way. Also, most doujinshi manage to make Krillin look good - not so short, more muscular, and not so damn goofy looking all the time.

He's always been the same guy to me, though, before and after 18. Always ready to fight for his friends, always just a little bit lazy. Sort of a pushover when it comes to the women though, which is probably why he ended up with 18.

Tenshinhan hardly seems like a dateless loser. I think that Krillens is the same charecter with hair besides he fights less and nobody can make cue-ball jokes. I would like it better if he stayed on pace.

Tenshinhan is either a dateless loser, or Chaozu is his lover.

I think Tenshinhan is just really boring and serious, and unconcerned with romance or dating.

Kind of like Piccolo.

Piccolo has an excuse, he's A-Sexual. Unless Tenshinhans a monk, he has no excuse. :P

Tenshinhans at least has Lunch if he needs a date. He definately does not put love as a priority. Yamcha at least tries for girlfriends unlike Tenshinhan who could care less :?
