He's an incredibly strong Saiyan who only appeared in the old anime movies, and I apparently at least drew the designs for him, but I had practically no involvement with the anime at the time, so I had totally forgotten about the story content.

So, about Broly. I hear these days, he's still very popular not only in Japan, but also overseas. Based on that, my editor suggested we have Broly appear in this next movie.

I went ahead and watched the movies from back then, and I felt this could be quite interesting once I rearrange some things. I got right to work trying my hand at a story that incorporates him into the Dragon Ball Super series.

While keeping in mind Broly's classic image so as not to disappoint his fans, I updated him and added a new side to his character, and I think this has resulted in a more fascinating Broly.

Naturally you’ll get to see fierce combat, but also, the paths of destiny that lead to an encounter between Goku, Vegeta, and Broly. It also involves the Frieza Force and the history of the Saiyans, which end up having a major connection to everything. The story content turns out to be very large-scale and dramatic.

Here comes that almighty Saiyan, Broly! I'm also including lots of other content all you fans will enjoy, so look forward to it, and be patient a while longer for it all to come together!![/spoiler]

Tch what the... oh right Broly. Well thats interesting and could, could being the oprative word here, be very good if handleed right. Toriyama is appaernly trying to flesh out his character more which would be a good thing since the big green goof ball has had his personality down graded with each film.

I'm assuming that the word clone either means they are rebooting him anew in the the series story proper or just throwing it out there he's a clone of the original legendery super saiyan who apperared long ago. Basically they could be retroactively making Broly THE legendery super saiyan.

What do Broly and Frieza have in common? No matter what anyone dose, some how, some way they will always crawl back from obilivian. In this case Broly is breaking through the continuity barrior to get into a main series.

WOW! So this is actually a thing aparrently. Just... WOW. I love Broly and all but I'm not sure how I feel about this. I know that this seems kind of superficial and all considering that we barely saw much of it but so far from what I have seen from the trailer and the poster... this new Broly's design is completely inferior to the old original one.

I mean, the idea itself and Toriyama's comments sound good. LSS is an interesting concept that was executed like shit. A chance to do it right would be great. But trusting modern Dragon Ball and Toriyama after F and the ToP is just being an idiot.

Would have a modicum of hope for this movie to be good if anyone else besides Toriyama was writing it.
