Not history of saiyans, not saiyans attack, simple that name. The chances of Broly not being the key character of a film with his own name splashed on it is as unlikely as Frieza not being one in a film called Resurection F.

The marketeers of TOEI handled this brilliantly. They knew Broly is popular with a number of the fanhood, but they also knew it would be a controversial topic with lots of other fans. This basically gives massive free promo, we are making the promo for the movie by talking about it that much, whether we like it or not. That's what they want to reach, on boards, on social media. They want this movie is talked about and discussed massively. Broly is an ideal topic to keep things flooding easily till December. The way they phased was brillaint too: first they released the poster 'as a leak' but without instant confirmation in order to initiate the spark.

Sorry for double posting, but Sumitomo has confirmed that he’s doing the score for the film. I really enjoyed his work in the Universe Survival arc, so I’m excited to see what he brings to this film.

Yes!!!! This is great news! Norihito Sumitomo NEVER dissapoints! He truly is the saviour for the japanese score, which, has always been bad terribly bad in my honest opinion.

Its very interesting that out of any voice actors, they’ve added Trunks and Piccolo. I wonder. People have been skeptical (and for good reason) about Piccolo being somewhat important but the fact that he’s been revealed with the big dogs might really mean he has a chance to do something cool. Remember, Toriyama’s favorite character was Piccolo (i think) at one time.

As for Trunks, we see him but no Goten. Crackpot theory, Future Trunks comes back to visit. You might say I'm crazy but then again, we live in a timeline where Broly is canon. Anything can happen. But Masako Nozawa does voice Goten and she’s in the film. Aside from my crackpot theory, I really rather not see the kids (even though they’re teens now right?). Trunks is a brat and Goten has no personality. All they can do is resort to fusion and even then, Gotenks is too much of a jokester. I’d only accept them if they aged up.

The thing I don't understand is that when people first saw this new Saiyan they were all hyped about it but then they learned this Saiyan is actually a new version of Broly, they started complaining? I mean, wtf does that change if its Broly or Yamoshi or Cucumber? nothing at all. Its a strong Saiyan who needs to be defeated one way or another.

Well some people are looking for more than a strong Saiyan who needs to be defeated. And also, if this really is a completely different personality, then it feels more like a new saiyan that had BROLY slapped onto his name for profit. It feels cheap. That said, i don’t really care anymore since in a db fanboy. I’ll watching anything Dragon ball. And this is still lookin to be the best and most successful db movie of all time.

Not to mention that his hair actually just looks black with a green glow giving off lighting that makes it look green. I wonder why the tv series of DBS never took risks like these.

No. Its a Broly reboot. He’s gonna look AND sound like Broly “while keeping in mind Broly's classic image so as not to disappoint his fans”. He’s not completely new.

Yeah Toriyama did that for Dragon Ball Minus and fans really hated it and the portrayal of Bardock.

I wonder if people put this much effort into justifying Hollywood and TV execs “remaking” movies and tv shows on old concepts.

That’s not to say that the film can’t be fantastic, but let’s not act like it’s a totally original concept. It’s a remake. Plan and simple. It’s not a brand new concept or character or anything. It’s a retelling of a previous story and character.

Why can’t people acknowledge that it’s lazy and a cash grab, but the movie could also be spectacular. I’m a Broly fan but personally they won’t be getting any of my cash because I’m just because of the sheer laziness of the concept.

Minus was a bonus manga chapter that wasn't even about bardock. Tacked on to a 11 manga story. Toriyama even admitted he couldn't write bardock and no one has done that character justice since. You cannot compare that to this not even on principle.

besides jaco was a prequel with dragon ball characters and that was good.
