Is it really that different to say 'I don't think the movie will be good' rather than 'I think it will be good'?JAPPO wrote:I just can't believe people review a movie before even a damn trailer is released...
You form an opinion based on what you've heard. You happen to think it'll turn out positively based on your list of credentials. I think it got off to a bad start based on what I've already written in the past.
I just think it's unfortunate that anyone who types anything less than 'I think this movie has a good chance of turning out good!

What you call 'bitching', others who might not share your opinion might refer to as 'criticizing'. And there have been plenty of stupid decisions to criticize.JAPPO wrote:Bitching about it isn't going to make it better. Being optimistic and saying, "maybe it WILL be good" is healthier than bitching.
Are you so completely incapable of enduring or ignoring anyone else's opinion that is not the same as yours that you have to insist everyone else keep their opinion to themselves?
We're not so different, though. As far as getting annoyed with bitching goes, I'm just as sick of the people complaining about anyone else who isn't an 'optimist'.
And of the word "bitching" in general.
Honestly, can't you come up with a more intelligible way of insulting another's argument than with tired obscenities?

*raises hand*
I will enjoy it.

No it wouldn't, that is not the American way, so there's no way that could be healthy or right. Even if everything they had announced so far was perfect and faithful to the manga and everything, I'd still be a bit concerned if no one was complaining about anything.JAPPO wrote:Bitching about it isn't going to make it better. Incidentally, complaining about things is how you get them fixed. You know, "squeaky wheel gets the oil?"

I just think it's unfortunate that anyone who types anything less than 'I think this movie has a good chance of turning out good!' is going to get shot down and flamed by certain specific board members based on similar pre-release bits of information.
I agree, it's pretty stupid that people seem to think that this thread should be so one-sided. I really don't see how being overly optimistic is any different than hating it. If you say "how can you call a movie crap before it's released" isn't that the same as praising something that hasn't been released? Oi, let's just let everyone think what they want and worry about how you feel yourselves. That's all that really counts in the end anyway, right?

I have a feeling that this film will be the live action Street Fighter of this decade lol. Just a random assumption.

12 year old Goku, sure. But, um, as I've said before, this isn't 12 year old Goku. This is 23rd Budokai Goku who's met people before and experienced the civilized world (and lived in it). Seriously, people, if you want to complain complain about something that's actually right, please? That's my main gripe here, people are complaining about things and not getting their facts straight before hand (oft-times because there aren't facts yet). The whole thing about Goku is that he's completely ignorant to the outside world. I mean he's never seen a girl before, he's never seen electricity. That adds to the whole adventure aspect of it really, him discovering the world.
I think the issue here is, as I've said, not that people are concerned about the movie and how it will com out, but that they're juding it at all without enough information to make a judgement. There's good points, there's bad points, but there's not enough information to say anything yet. The basic details we have now are pointing to, at the very least, a decent movie (note that I said decent movie, not word for word exactly like the manga real world version of the series >>) that, while having some differences from the source material (there always are) still carries the same feel.I agree, it's pretty stupid that people seem to think that this thread should be so one-sided. <Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Eh, no matter what facts there are I just can't be excited because live action just isn't the same. Regardless of my thoughts, I just think it's dumb to see people going back and forth because they have differing opinions when really that's all it is anyway, opinion. Also, I see what you're saying about how it was 12 year old Goku who was naive and what not, but I'm willing to bet that that won't be his backstory in this movie (it sounds to me like he just grew up with these people and went to school like a normal child..more like a standard American super hero story than DB)...I'll be very surprised if it is.

Uh hardly, Guile as the main character and Ryu and Ken as supporting characters? I think the only thing they got right was M. Bison being the villain.NeptuneKai wrote:Even that looks closer to the source material.Snail wrote:I have a feeling that this film will be the live action Street Fighter of this decade lol.

Yes because we all remember the duo of Teto and Goku fighting the Namek ninja's on earth. Not to mention highschool Goku and martial arts Bulma, I think the only thing they got right was Piccolo being the villain.Sun_Wukong wrote:Uh hardly, Guile as the main character and Ryu and Ken as supporting characters?
