Jiren has no deals with Universe 7 that would make no sense.

Now I got sent September, October and November's catalogue scans early so if I hopefully do again I should have them exactly 2 weeks today.
Were SSBKK and SSR(both of them) telegraphed by catalogues?

Both the Japanese and English trailers were epic.

The animation was incredible. A bit patchy in some places, but otherwise great motion and VFX to make epic action. Shintani's direction looks to be awesome.

I can't wait to see Broly take on Frieza. That's going to be something memorable.

No doubt on the Spanish dub. From Mexico on South, I expect to hear a loud chorus of cheers once that drops. From my home in Wyoming.

As for the baby; no. One tail, the other is a tube thing connected to that metal diaper/seat thing.

Gaffer Tape wrote:If I had to lay it on the table right now, with admittedly very little information, I'd say you just see flashes of moments from Minus, in some kind of flashback or something. While it might tie into some kind of contrast between Goku's story and Broli's story, I doubt it will be expanded on significantly. And that's not even wishful thinking on my part.
Actually, I think they will try (keyword here) to showcase the contrast between Goku's story, someone who was sent to Earth because his parents loved him, Vegeta's story, a prince that was pampered and protected all his life, and Broly's story, a nobody who presumably suffered abuse all his life and was forgotten to time; that's what I gather from the insistence on the "how will these three Saiyan destinies meet?" tagline and them continually referring to Broly as an "unknown Saiyan" throughout the trailer. I say they'll try because they'll show this contrast somewhere in the movie, but like every interesting modern Dragon Ball idea, they'll present it superficially and never develop it beyond the surface level; instead, they'll just throw the concept out into the air and then focus on the spectacle.

And I say "interesting" very loosely here. If Minus wasn't a thing, then the "unknown", forgotten-to-time Saiyan that this movie will likely portray Broly as was Goku and this idea was explored to some degree all the way back in the Saiyan arc. Even with Minus, Goku is still that "unknown Saiyan", he only loses the tragic aspect of his backstory; the biggest victim of the tragedy of planet Vegeta's destruction will be Broly's to showcase the contrast between the three Saiyans. It's essentially going to be M8 again, but they're making the subtext overt.

I'm not trying to pass judgement so soon since we know nothing, but I really think this is what they're going with due to the way they're marketing the movie.

In a few weeks, we'll get catalogues for December figures. Everything but the WCFs have now been revealed. However if there is something blanked in the WCFs but over ratio'd ie between 12 and 14 then that more or less will confirm fusion (unless the label says "Son Goku" then UI is suddely back on the table) because main Goku, Vegeta, Gogeta/Vegetto will always be over ratio'd, however if it's under ratio'd ie 8 or under it's not fusion and a new character period because new characters are always under raito'd.

(Basically it's because under ratioing Goku etc won't be beneficial as they have so many figures not many people will bother winning them but since newer characters won't they get under ratioed so more people will try and win them and thus spend more money in trying too).
Ok so anything ratio’d between 12 and 14 means fusion unless the label says Son Goku. Ratio’d at 8 or below means a new character. What about between 12 and 8? And what does ratio’d even mean?
WCFs are sold in a case of 56. With 6 different species of figures for a lack if better word. So thus there will be ratios of figures. Example:
March 2018 catalogue scan:
Image
"F" is blanked but on the right says "Son Goku". (For the fusions however if blanked this will not be specified.) Goku will always be specified.
Anyway blanked Goku was had a ratio of 14 per case! Next to him was main SS Gogeta at 12, SS4 Vegeta also at 12. These are the over ratio'd.

SS3 GT Goku is medium ratio at 8 (because there is already a main Goku in the set) so for the movie WCFs this might be your Beerus' or Whis' guys who aren't new per se bur rarely get figures in general.

Now we get to the under ratio, Caulifla new character at 6 and Veku at 4. (Pretend Veku here is essentially a new character the reason he is treated as one hence low ratio is because he's never had a single figure and he's not the main fusion of the set).

Now let's look at this November's SDBH WCF:
Image
It's a bit different since SDBH is only a set of 5 but it's same idea and viola Vegetto is at the high ratio!

I don't have the ResF ratio pics with me but you can take my word SSGSS Goku, Vegeta, Freeza were all blanked but over ratio'd and unsurprisingly all 3 had new forms! However in Freeza's set there was another blanked figure but at 6 (Golden Freeza was blanked at 14)...turned out to be Shishami and that fits with the new character pattern.

So to conclude anything main Goku/Vegeta and (assuming like Freeza in ResF) Broly will be over ratio, if fusions are in the movie then that will be too but also will be blanked like the March Goku however won't be labelled. If Goku/Vegeta/Broly have new forms or something spoiler-y then they will be blanked but presumably labelled.

Now I got sent September, October and November's catalogue scans early so if I hopefully do again I should have them exactly 2 weeks today.
Very interesting. More people should look into this kind of stuff. I look forward to the December catalogue.

In the trailer, we got 2 shots of saiyans babies in incubator types of machines. No most would think that these aren’t the usual saiyan baby pods but they actually are. Due to evidence from another scene in the movie and the fact that its being written by Toriyama, we can assume that this movie is heavily taking from Dragon Ball Minus written by Toriyama. And in DBMinus, the saiyan baby pods looked like this:

But there are still some differences between the DBMinus pod and the one from the trailer:

My theory is that Paragus is less of a warrior and more of a scientist (judging from the fact he has his own tech remote and his clothing looks less fight-friendly, and he’s more manipulative and less savage) and he’s been trying to create more powerful saiyans. How?
Well when you look at Broly, his main power that separates him from the average saiyan is his abnormal SSJ form. His lack of pupils shows how this overload of power has made him go “berserk” and instead of just staying yellow, his arua surpasses that and becomes a green color. He gets a boost that’s superior to the regular Super Saiyan boosts and every way. It makes the user unstable. Now lets go way back to the root of SSJ. What do you need to activate it? S-Cells.

I believe that Paragus is trying to genetically modifiy saiyan babies by filling them with an abundance of S-Cells to increase their power and Broly is won of the successful experiments. That would be why Broly can achieve such a powerful Super Saiyan form. I mean, Toriyama said that you need to be on the nicer side for you to have more S-Cells. So how could a savage such as Broly have so many unless they were put into him artificially by a scientist?
And the whole idea of S-Cells was brought up by Toriyama in an interview which just so happened to be taken during the production of the movie itself. And the movie’s concept was “the origins of the saiyans’ power”. S-Cells are literally what makes Super Saiyan possible.

TD;DR Paragus is a scientist who genetically modifies saiyans to become more powerful be giving than more S-Cells and Broly is one of those saiyans which explains his very powerful SSJ form. A.K.A: LSSJ or SSBerserk
Interesting theory. This could explain why would they show baby Goku in the flashbacks too. Imagine if one of the twists in the movie was that Goku was one of Paragus' experiments. It'd be like a reverse of when Vegeta revealed that Goku was a lower class Saiyan. Whereas before he had to work hard to catch up with and surpass Vegeta, this potential movie twist would leave him wondering if his power was really was the result of his hard work or if it was just something given to him. All the while Paragus would be watching this fight go down, waiting to see which of his two test subjects was a bigger success.
That would definetly be interesting. It might even make Goku’s question his own strength. As we saw in B.o.G, Goku doesn’t like getting “help” to reach his strength.
I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie. 8)

Wouldn't be the first M8 thing they'd just copy. I know people do have the valid defense for it so far that we obviously haven't seen the actual film but the trailer presents this as just a remake of M8 with some Minus stuff thrown in, if this is really some new, bold direction for Broly, the trailers are doing a piss poor job of conveying this idea.

Definitely possible, so broly wouldn't be born a prodigy but made one. Get rid of that goku crying plotline I guess.

As much as it looks like happening, i really want history of bardock to remain the canon story so I'm going to be very dissapointed if stuff from that gets contradicted. While all subsequent bardock material is fairly average, the original is one of the greatest pieces of dbz material and actually has ties to the series itself.

Theres no doubt some similarities (broly, paragus flashbacks to Planet Vegeta, new planet, what seems to be Broly's restricted form) but I feel this will be completely different in terms of plot. We've got the gods and Frieza to think about now.

Toriyama has almost always subverted expectations, have some faith.

Yeah, I somehow lost even more excitement after the trailer, since it literally looks just like M8 with Freeza thrown in for fanservice's sake. The entire movie sounds like a repeat of F: an interesting premise with a lot of potential to innovate and do something bold with the returning character, but they're just gonna do what they did before for the sake of the spectacle and fanservice. It's F with better action, and it's depressing that's the direction the franchise is taking.

I'll just repeat what I said earlier today, almost no one who's either involved or partakes in Dragon Ball understands that it's not the action itself what makes it good, it's the context the action is founded on that made the Nappa fight captivating or Goku fighting Jackie Chun. Even Toriyama feels like he's forgotten this and has resigned himself to the fact dumb spectacle is all its good for.

I sort of need to see something to base more positive expectations on, though and the trailers not doing that. Toriyama did an interview back in April where he described the movie as feeling like a space opera with an intentionally broken up story taking place across multiple points in time. I certainly don't get any single hint of this being remotely like a space opera. It's just being sold as another generic Broly movie where spectacle is king and narrative is somewhere off in the corner.

That was Akio Iyoku:

…Hmm. It’s still a secret, but… I’ll give you just a little. When it comes to a story about the Saiyans, it will of course require a look back at history. There will be vignettes from the past, such as, this sort of thing happened back then. It’s a movie that doesn’t follow a single, monotonous plot line; there’s a story in the present and a story in the past, and there are changes in setting, so it’s got quite the sense of scale. I think it’s become a spectacular “space opera”. There are some multilayered elements as well, so I think it will be something people can watch and enjoy again and again, with everyone imbuing all sorts of characters with a variety of feelings.

Update

Funimation also hints that Gogeta might be in the movie since part of the dbs movie promotion was the 3 movies/specials airing in theaters. And Bardock and Broly are both confirmed. We just need Gogeta.

Is it though? Because despite all this commotion about the two movies and Bardock's TV Special airing at theaters, I have never seen any kind of relation between the movie and the airing stuff, at least not from an official source. Mind to provide a source?

I don't live in America so I can't tell, isn't common to air Dragon Ball movies at theaters there?

If Goku/Vegeta/Broly have new forms or something spoiler-y then they will be blanked but presumably labelled.

Now I got sent September, October and November's catalogue scans early so if I hopefully do again I should have them exactly 2 weeks today.
Were SSBKK and SSR(both of them) telegraphed by catalogues?
Nah DBS didn't get properly marketed until 2017. So by then all the pre-ToP stuff didn't need to be blanked since obviously everyone knows about them.

Funimation also hints that Gogeta might be in the movie since part of the dbs movie promotion was the 3 movies/specials airing in theaters. And Bardock and Broly are both confirmed. We just need Gogeta.

Bardock isn't exactly confirmed yet. Also the 3 movies aren't part of DBS movie promotion.

I don't live in America so I can't tell, isn't common to air Dragon Ball movies at theaters there?
No, it's not common for DB movies to be aired. Only really been happening for BoG, and RoF when they came out.
Why I use "Geran" instead of "Jiren"
