Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie #1 Thread: "Broly"
Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
It's going to be very interesting to see how well this movie does at the box office because it's got a lot of advantages going for it compared to the others.
The Comic Con promotion for it is huge. Battle of Gods and Resurrection F only had the one domestic trailer and they came out a little over a month before the movie released.
This has had a trailer six months before hand and there's gotta be another one to give a specific date.
The last two were limited to a certain number of days and showings per day. I'd expect this would be considerably higher in comparison.

FUNi need to go big with the theatrical release for this one. 'F' could've made even more if they'd given it a slightly longer run and showed it at more theatres during its release. Judging by the promo for this new film, looks like they're already on the right track. They need to have this running in theatres for at least 3 weeks.Bullza wrote:It's going to be very interesting to see how well this movie does at the box office because it's got a lot of advantages going for it compared to the others.

Back when 'F' came out in Australia, it was originally only meant to be out for 2 weeks, but due to popular demand and Madman realising just how big of a hit the film was, the run got extended for another 2 weeks. The only promo that film got was a YouTube trailer and some posts on social media.
The great promo so far combined with the hype from Super is going to make this film a massive hit. Not to mention one of the most popular Dragon Ball antagonists is front and centre of this thing, so this is already a guaranteed huge success. I can't wait to see how it performs in the box office.

I called it that Gogeta, Bardock, and something Broly related would be in the movie before it was even announced that it was a Broly movie.

Yup, a future seeing super Saiyan breeding scientist is definitely what comes to mind when bardock is mentioned..

I'm curious to see how they will defeat Broly this time. Many people are spaculating that we're going to finally see Gogeta, but I don't know if they will go all out full-fanservice on this one movie. They might save him for another one. Others think Goku will defeat him with UI. Me, personally, I hope it will be some kind of teamwork where all the characters involved do their part in defeating him, but hopefully not in a bland boring way, and I'm sure Toriyama is able to pull it off, he's the master of unexpected endings.

I think Broly will defeat himself.. aka his own ever increasing strength will be his undoing..PsychoXander wrote:I'm curious to see how they will defeat Broly this time.
The manga touched upon this concept with Kale, I assume the same will be applicable here..

That would be a cool and fitting end to his character, increasing his infinite power until his body can't take it anymore.Ki Breaker wrote:I think Broly will defeat himself.. aka his own ever increasing strength will be his undoing..PsychoXander wrote:I'm curious to see how they will defeat Broly this time.

Toriyama likes to surprise us so that would do it.PsychoXander wrote:That would be a cool and fitting end to his character, increasing his infinite power until his body can't take it anymore.Ki Breaker wrote:I think Broly will defeat himself.. aka his own ever increasing strength will be his undoing..PsychoXander wrote:I'm curious to see how they will defeat Broly this time.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I was really unhappy with what Toyotaro did in the manga - ascending a discredited and wrong, yet popular fan theory that Broly's power actually rises without limit while he's in the LSSj form. Even the Multiverse guys subscribed to this bullcrap

Same for the UK! Was only supposed to be one or a couple days for us but got extended through the week, but the day it opened the cinema I went too had to move the screen from one of the shitty smaller one's they originally planned to one of the big one's because the demand was unreal. Like you said only way people knew about it was via social media, so if Toei/Fox can get the trailer shown in cinema's that would even better!Super Saiyan Swagger wrote:FUNi need to go big with the theatrical release for this one. Merch wise we're already getting lovely One Piece treatment unlike the shit treatment we got for BoG/ResF hopefully Showa Note (who do some of the general merchandise) also go in hard for the movie since figures etc are aimed at 15yrs+

Well perhaps that's just a foreshadowing to what we will get in the movie..Saturnine wrote:I was really unhappy with what Toyotaro did in the manga - ascending a discredited and wrong, yet popular fan theory that Broly's power actually rises without limit while he's in the LSSj form. Already the trailer has Goku and Vegeta amazed at Broly's increasing strength.

Already the trailer has Goku and Vegeta amazed at Broly's increasing strength. She started growing in power but reached a plateau and by the end of it was actually losing power. There's no rising without limit crap.
Re: Official On-Going Dragon Ball Super Movie Thread: "Broly"
Kale peaked because she was inexperienced and wasn't in control of her own energy. She was just burning herself out. It can also be argued that it's because they were fighting in the Void and that there is no ambient energy for her to draw from. Broly did not possess this problem. Nvm that in the very last episode, both Goku and Vegeta express that a Saiyan has no limits.LightBing wrote: Did you guys even read the manga? She started growing in power but reached a plateau and by the end of it was actually losing power. Also the Super Manga isn't canon.

Nothing of that is apparent in the manga. Although taking into account your last sentence you might not even be talking about it. Who was even talking about canon whatsoever?Zelvin wrote:Kale peaked because she was inexperienced and wasn't in control of her own energy. She was just burning herself out. Hoping for more physical damage like black eyes etc to make up for expected the lack of blood. Clothes damage won't mean much now since we had that in the ToP.
