Identity Tajima, the next Son Goku?

Post by Mister_Popo » Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:06 pm

Surfing YouTube and watching some Japanese DB-stuff i stumbled on a guy that can mimic Nozawa's voice pretty flawlessly.
He's pretty popular in Japan and some fans adress as him as the next Son Goku. Some of you might already know him.
After watching a couple of his vid i am convinced he would be an excellent cast for both Goku and Goten if the day would eventually come they can no longer be done by Nozawa.

Identity Tajima is the name.
Tajima decided to impersonate Nozawa Masako, using the voice of Goku, as though this was the way Nozawa spent her daily life. This allows for the comedy, and it works by creating ridiculous real life situations.

Tajima started this act on a YouTube channel with his comedic partner 見浦 (Miura), and the 2 of them combined make up the group “Identity”. They started a fun back and forth of Miura and “Nozawa Masako.”

In this video he performs Goku and Goten:

His imitation is compared with recordings of the real Nozawa doing the characters and the resemblence is striking.
The difference between the voices is actually very difficult to hear. :D

I have come on some Goku-imitators on the internet, but this is the best one i found so far. I found no information on Kanzenshuu on him yet. That's why i thought i'd share his 'performance' with you guys.

I hope TOEI doesn't try to replace Masako with an actor who mimics voices but rather a voice with a personality, one that isn't imitating someone else. Take Kappei Yamaguchi, he dubbed Son Goku in Dragon Ball Evolution and he'd be a great fit to be the next voice of Goku, imo.

Masako Nozawa can be seen as 'Classic Goku' and then the new one as 'Modern Goku' whomever he or she may end up be, which TOEI likely already chose but they've not disclosed it yet.

New Bulma also rasembles old Bulma:

Why would TOEI risk a different path with an even more important character?
identifiability is an important factor in marketing.

Yeah no. Goku needs to sound like Goku. A sudden radical voice change after 30 years would be incredibly jarring. Hiring a Nozawa soundalike/understudy is absolutely the way to go when the horrible day comes.
