Did Jiren Get So Strong From Using An Enhanced Level Of Image Training Like How Freeza Did?
We do see Jiren meditating a lot, and his power is just so overwhelmingly huge for someone born as an utter weakling so is he able to just continuously draw on latent/external power just by concentrating intensely similar to how Freeza did during his second stay in Hell?

How do you know he was an "utter weakling" as a child?theherodjl wrote:We do see Jiren meditating a lot, and his power is just so overwhelmingly huge for someone born as an utter weakling so is he able to just continuously draw on latent/external power just by concentrating intensely similar to how Freeza did during his second stay in Hell?

Given Jiren's body shape, we can only assume the mental training was a recent thing, and he got most of the way there with protein and mad reps, bruh.
That's safe to say, image/meditation training is a tried and true method of training in Dragon Ball. Krillin and Gohan do it on the way to Namek, Piccolo is often shown doing it in downtime, but I can't remember it ever leading to any notable boosts (as in, "oh, they used image training and now they've reached a new level"). I think it's because Goku and Vegeta are the ones most likely to get big boosts from training, and their method is the old fashioned push-ups, sit-ups and plenty of juice.
In the Tournament of Power arc we had no less than 3 instances of characters reaching advanced heights via mental development (Freeza and Gohan explicitly, Jiren implicitly) which made me think they were setting up something about that being the new way forward. Like, you've hit the limit of what physical training can give you, now you need to focus on the mental/spiritual aspect. That's...sort of what happened with Ultra Instinct, but not quite.
