Clinkenbeard's performance isn't very convincing either so it's not as if Schemmel couldn't do given the chance to. Masako Nozawa voices the Son family so maybe he could try to follow the footsteps of the Original Goku VA despite that it's 20 years later.
Nozawa’s voice can fit an adult Goku who is still a bit child at heart.
Schemmel can do an adult Goku who is heroic, laidback, and a bit airheaded fine but he can’t do a little boy voice.

This. I agree that Clinkbeard’s kid Goku is awful but Funimation has the right idea. Little boys voices tend to sound a lot girlier than people seem to think.
Whenever an anime or cartoon has a little boy voiced by a grown adult male its usually cringy. Unless its being done for comedic effect

The JPN voice for Chibi Trunks is done by a male, but that's one of the few times off hand I can think that it works.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

I don't think that's the case. He simply became a better actor. If he never had the rasp even in season 3, he still would've been a mediocre actor at best.
It's true that he became a better actor, but toning down the rasp also helped him.

Yeah nah, we could do without those two especially Vollmer
Colleen Clinkenbeard and Monica Rial (from the Cell games onward) put out much worse than anything the former two have done, especially Clinkenbeard.
Colleen is so whiny sounding it grates my ears. It's like the only voice she can put out is a baby whining.

I'm the exact opposite. I can't stand anything Vollmer and Nadolny have done. Vollmer is an awful actress and her voice is very unpleasant sounding. I can't stand Nadolny at all. Her raspiness when combined with her crying makes me cringe.

Vollmer always sounded like she had a sore throat.

It should be noted that Nadolny actually did lose the raspiness for both her Goku and Gohan voices from 2002 onward in favor of a more nasally voice. Your mileage may vary on whether that’s an improvement, though.

At this point Dragon Ball's dub is beyond saving. As long as they feel they have "creative license" we will never get a truly faithful adaptation. We're talking about the people that removed pretty much every vulgar joke they could and thought the audience couldn't comprehend breaking the fourth wall. It'll never happen.

It doesn’t have to be verbatim the same as the Japanese sub. It would just be nice if it was better than the 2000s dub.
