No, he can just hold his breath for a REEEEEAAAAAALLLLY long time. No matter how much of a blue-tighted plot device you are, you can't breathe if there's nothing TO breathe.Sun_Wukong wrote:Uh yes he can...Super Sonic wrote:Those are interesting pics. And Superman can't breathe in space.
What'd you search for? I'd like to see the source myself. Especially the "ever heard of the Super Saiyajin" one.Kendamu wrote:No. I found it in a Google search.

Wasn't there a comic about this fight?
I've looked everywhere and I can't find it at all >.<
Does anyone know where I can find some scans?

There's one on dA, if that's what you're talking about. But it's lame and WAY Super-biased. Goku doesn't even use SSj1.Big Momma wrote:Wasn't there a comic about this fight?

No, I looked it up, and it appeared in Wizard magazine, Sept. 2002 issue, page 64.SSj Kaboom wrote: There's one on dA, if that's what you're talking about. But it's lame and WAY Super-biased. Goku doesn't even use SSj1.
EDIT:
Kay has apparently posted it up!

Oh. Well, you said "comic," I thought you meant... um... A fan-made comic. That's just an article.Big Momma wrote:No, I looked it up, and it appeared in Wizard magazine, Sept. 2002 issue, page 64.SSj Kaboom wrote: There's one on dA, if that's what you're talking about. Yeah, I didn't really know much about it.SSj Kaboom wrote:Oh. Well, you said "comic," I thought you meant... um... A fan-made comic. Now that I've read it, though, I think I'll make a comic based on it...but I can't really draw Superman.

I always love these threads. They always talk about how Superman would suffocate Goku in space, or how Goku would vaporize Superman with a Kamehameha, but they never touch upon one problem in the situation.

Do not forget that the Save The Baby origin has been done since the time of Moses, such as in his tale of escape from death as a baby floating down the Nile river. There is really nothing new under the sun, only the unfamiliar and unexperienced.TheGreatness25 wrote:Well if you think about it, every epic story is just a copy of a previous one, with new characters and a different setting.
Now you'll never catch me saying that I'm religious at all. But, having taken Literature class, I kind of see that...every story basically comes from the bible and the old testament. That book had villains, struggle, plague, conflict, murder, and of course, a hero. Think about it.
Every ancient writing had basically the same stories with different characters and setting. I should know, because I had to read all of them. Think about it.
Compare Jesus and Hercules. Both sons of Gods, but born to humans. Both saviors in their own way. Hercules was a savior with his strength and physically helping people, and Jesus was a savior spiritually, and helped people find their own way. Now, take Superman.
Superman is the last of a race, who are superior to regular humans. Sent down from a far away place. But he has no selfishness and no selflessness. All he lives for, all he breathes for is to help those who cannot help themselves. He is the savior. Superman is the comic book modern day version of Jesus, wrapped up in a nice red and blue package. Jesus had his conflict with Satan, Superman has his conflicts from time to time with his internal devil, which tells him to become selfish and take what he wants. But of course, just like Jesus walked away from Satan, Superman never strays down the path of selfishness, he never gives in to his internal demons.
Now, Goku is basically the same deal. How many stories are JUST like that? Where there is someone unique, sent from somewhere else to help those who can't help themselves. It's everywhere. Every epic story seems to be like that. So it's not the first time, it's not the last time, and it's very, VERY common.
There is just something that attracts people to the idea of a single person sent from somewhere else, put here with no ego, with no selfishness, to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
That which is, is bound to be
That which is not, may never be
In this sense, no things are free
Wether they may or may not be
That which is not, may never be
In this sense, no things are free
Wether they may or may not be

Also, one's head typically explodes in space without protection. As to why? It's a big vacuum. Not only would Superman (and Freeza and his family, for that matter) have to be able to deal with the lack of air to breathe, their bodies would also have to be able to deal with the lack of pressure in the outside environment.SSj Kaboom wrote:No, he can just hold his breath for a REEEEEAAAAAALLLLY long time. Of course, these are super-powered aliens we're talking about, so I suppose that issue doesn't really apply. <_< Yay moot points!
I've got nothing more to add to this discussion. However, I will attempt to kill it if it turns into another versus debate like in the last thread. Just saying. >_>
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.
