Well, we've seen that actually... not going splat from the vacuum is no problem for Super Saiyan-level people. Freeza was floating around in space with no real problem, and that was after he was practically blown up into squishy pieces. So Super Saiyan Goku could do it, too, until he had to breathe. No doubt however that Goku's got pretty good lungs at that level, too. Not lungs of Supe's level, but... pretty darn close.

You'd figure he could convert his ki into air or something.

Oddly enough, that's actually what would really happen to me.

What reason would Goku and Superman have to fight each other to the death?

I remember coming across that one last night and also finding it the most likely scenario.

However, I never thought that in "Goku vs. Superman" that it would be a fight to the death. As far as I know neither like killing. However, I do know that both are good sports. So, if they ever were to fight it would be in something like the Tenkaichi Budokai or some random sparring session.
