Now, the music? You sort of pirate everything so you don't know what FUNimation releases have? lol.
Eh? Removing the black bars isn't stretching the image at all, it's saving space in his post. You know that back in the day on a CRTV, 4:3 was the standard so it did fill the entire screen, right? There were no black bars period when watching 4:3 content.

Or, based on your pirated response, do you guys just have some kind of beef going on? Regardless, the assumption that Solid State Scouter isn't in the dub version is a sound one. Lots of insert songs like Unmei no Hi for SSJ2 Gohan don't exist with FUNimation's dub, in fact no music plays at all. Though, I did just check my official blu ray and Solid State Scouter definitely plays during the dub in the Bardock special.

That makes no sense. He kept the aspect ratio, he didn't stretch anything. He merely removed the pointless black bars for the screenshots.

Man, that Bardock clip looks good. Why couldn't they remaster the Buu arc like that for Kai?

They posted a clip from Fusion Reborn as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjpsc3FfcTw

Is that New Toei HD footage or Double Features footage? Isn't the New Toei HD footage supposed to have a tighter aspect ratio?

This Fusion Reborn clip is which remaster? The new 2018 Toei remaster one or the 2009 Funimation remaster?

Was the double feature in full screen?

No, it was 16:9 widescreen. I'm curious about this too as FUNi's widescreen releases as well as the Dragon Box movies are in 16:9, while these new remasters are supposed to be in a more accurate aspect ratio to what they were in theaters. So, since that footage is 16:9 it makes me wonder if it's the new remaster or not.

I think that clip from Z movie 12 is from Funi's master.
The point of Dragon Ball is to enjoy it. Never lose sight of that.

What i watched from that Bardock clip was in full screen, not in wide screen. But maybe you were talking about Fusion Reborn here? Those new remasters are in wide screen.

We're referring to the Fusion Reborn clip that was posted by SqueakyBoots.

Saw your edit. The new masters for Toei's blu ray are in widescreen yes, but not 16:9 widescreen. They're in 1:85:1 which is an aspect ratio commonly used in theaters. That clip posted is 16:9, or 1:78:1, which indicates it's most likely FUNi's master, not the new one.

I would be a lot more excited if it weren't for the fact that the Optical Track audio is probably being used. I mean, sure, one could demux the audio stream from Dragon Box: The Movies and remux it with the new Blu-rays, but we shouldn't have to do that.

So the DBox Movies are the highest Jap quality there is for the Z movies? What sound quality do the Funi 2008/2009 movie releases have?

Optical Track based off of whatever multi-generational film print they have. Some sound better than others, but all are 100% inferior to Dragon Box: The Movies, as that used the original magnetic tapes as the audio source.

Did... did they redub the Bardock special?
That stupid alien voice over is gone from the first clip!
