Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
Eariler, there was a thread about who was the most evil DB character ever. What I want to know is who do you guys think has the most "good guy" credentials. You can include non-canon characters if you want.
My choice for most heroic DB character goes to Future Trunks, followed by Tapion and Good A21.

Re: Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
Probably Future Trunks, he actually wanted to bring peace out of the goodness of his heart rather than doing it for ulterior motives like Goku & Vegeta do. He trained not to get stronger for pride or to seek new challenges, but to keep the peace no matter what. In doing so, Trunks nearly reached the God-tier mostly on his own, and then pulled out Hakaishin-tier strength from his own & few Humans hope. Even Goku didn't reach this level until he was pushed towards the potential end of his & the universe's existence.

Future Trunks. He doesn't play around with his opponent like Goku and Vegeta and he want to bring peace in his timeline.

Future Trunks from DBZ. Not the one from Super.
Also Gohan, present and especially future.
Goku despite being dumbass at times also made some really heroic decissions.

Future Trunks is arguably even more heroic in Super than his was in Z. Future Trunks in the Android arc would often make bad decisions in an attempt to win Vegeta's approval (losing sight of his mission to kill the androids), that never happened in the Black arc anime.sunsetshimmer wrote:Future Trunks from DBZ. Zamasu. The only one who actually cared about upholding the sacred laws of the Gods upon which the Multiverse is built, and restore peace and order to a war-torn cosmos tainted and ravaged by the destructive nature of mortal kind.
Future Trunks is not a hero, because he shattered reality itself by travelling through time, a most heinous sin that utterly broke the divine laws of the Gods.

Akira Toriyama, DBS vol.4 joint interview with ToyotaroAt his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

In DBZ he decided to save past so people wouldn't have to live in the same nightmare as he is and never asked anyone to help him in future.
But here he ran from his timeline to get help from others which also brought Goku Black to past.
Yeah but it was his Super version that completely lost faith in himself, let his mother die, was beaten by his child self and was depending on Goku and Vegeta all the time.zarmack wrote:Future Trunks is arguably even more heroic in Super than his was in Z. Re: Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
In No Particular Order;
1.) Toppo, Jiren and The Pride Troopers of Universe 11!
~ They are the Guardians of the Galaxy of their Universe, pretty much they say and state it in their battles while it was also stated they are looked-up to by Near ALL the citizens in their Universe as their Protectors and heroes! Also they where the Highest Mortal Level of all the Universes in the ToP, just missing being out of the ToP, they made their Universe into one of the best places to live with their ideals of JUSTICE, That is Truly Heroic!
2.) Ribrianne/Brianne, The Fireballs and Warriors of Universe 2!
~ Much the Same as Universe 11's Pride Troops, but instead of justice, their Universe was based on the Ideals of LOVE and Caring Friendship! This made them the 2nd Highest Mortal Rated Universe in the ToP just behind Universe 11 and came close to being out of the ToP as well. Ribrianne, The Fireballs and the Universe 2 Warriors have made their Universe so Peaceful and Mature thru their the ideals of love that they Broadcast to their WHOLE Universe their Last Stand Battle in the ToP and even knowing they might all be erased in episode 118, U2 citizens Never Once Rioted or went crazy, they where classy and mature, showing a great level of moral development. U7 was afraid of such Rioting actions due to news like this of the ToP like with what happen with cell and U9 went crazy of the news as well, so it shows just how well Ribrianne and U2 leaders have done with the Gods plan of develop, that is Truly Heroic.
Also Ribrianne is seen not just as a hero, but as a Goddess in their Universe for all of this!
U11 and U2 are examples of Development we Hope one day out own societies can develop maturity into.
3.) Future Trunks!
~ Unlike his Father or Goku, Future Trunks is not about prolonging the fight for the fun of it or being rule by is saiyan blood in making it all about having the best fight or letting villain power up to prove who is stronger. Trunks is Direct and gets the job done the fastest way possible to end the threat. He has seen to much death and destruction i his life, he is very little nonsense and get gets the job done to protect the ones he love and his fellow earthlings. Examples like Future Evil 17 and 18, Dabura and Babidi, he takes them done fast to end the threat.
A good hero is about protecting the ones you love and trying to cause as little destruction as you can in the process, finding ways to end the threat fast. I always liked and felt future Trunks was like this and like his character more for it!
4.) Gohan!
While Gohan has had moments of giving into the thrill of the fight, he more often then not tries to walk the purest path possible. He cares about stopping the Bad Guys in similar ways that Future Trunks does and he has an amazing good heart in putting it into caring for his family and love ones 1st, being a good Dad, Husband and Citizens. Overall he has great nobility and takes in allot of the events that happen around him as I have seen very deeply and personally to make him find the best path possible to make things right.

Re: Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
The reason why Trunks came to the past in the first place in Z WAS to ask for Goku and others help against the Androids. Also, he didn't let Future Bulma die, she sacrificed herself so that F.Trunks could escape to the past (he was no match for Black at the time). Also, after Trunks unlocked SSJ Rage, he did way more in facing off Black & Zamasu than Goku and Vegeta did and was even the one to finish off Merged Zamasu in the end.sunsetshimmer wrote:^^^![]()

Mr. Satan. No, seriously - no one else has been so completely outmatched yet taken such risks to save people, as he did by taking 16's head to Gohan, confronting Buu multiple times, etc.

Re: Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
If we ignore Goku who I think are among the most heroic characters are:
1. Future Trunks: Saved a timeline and fixed his own and later tried to protect it from Zamasu. He failed but he still tried his best. And in the games he helps the Supreme Kai(probably not the same Trunks but still a hero.)
2.Yamcha, Tien, Chiaotzu, and Krillin: They are not the strongest and they are not always successful but you can easily tell they would solve a lot of the conflicts if they were able to do it. They also contain some noble traits that are often associated with heroes. They don't do much but they inderectly saved the universe and timeline(s) by helping important figures like Bulma and Goku.
3.Android 17: Everything he did in Dragon Ball Super explains it all.
4.Gohan: He is the Great Saiyaman!
5. Monaka: He is the 2nd if not the strongest being of universe 7 and saved Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, old alien, and Goku from evil jelly Copy Vegeta.

I think that person specified Future Trunks from Z only because they don't like Super.zarmack wrote:The reason why Trunks came to the past in the first place in Z WAS to ask for Goku and others help against the Androids. Re: Who is the most heroic DB character in the Franchise?
Nobody is truly heroic as they are all selfish to some degree. The Pride Troopers were willing to let billions of people die for some petty wish. Gohan almost doomed everyone for revenge. My vote goes for Mr. Satan as well; in spite of his initial hubris, he is the most selfless of the bunch by the end, constantly willing to help and he never endangers anyone but himself. Future Trunks is a close second.

My vote goes to Mr Satan.
Imagine any of us thrown into the Dragon Ball world and having to some of the extreme shit that he had to do in the Cell arc and especially in the Majin Boo arc. We would all piss out pants in fear. But Mr Satan took on fucking Majin Boo, knowing that Majin Boo could so much as sneeze in his direction and disintegrate him, to aid in whatever way he could to potentially save the lives of billions.

Everything he did back then was primarily for selfish reasons. i.e. to make himself look like the hero/savior. Against both Cell and Buu although it became more complicated with Buu later on but he was still doing it for selfish purposes initially. I personally don't see how he can be seen as the most heroic character in DB knowing what his true intentions behind "saving the world" were...
