Broly Blu-Ray
I know this is a stupid question but I was never sure on this. The "Re-mastered" Broly Blu-Ray...Did those movies have the option of English Dub with JP Music? I'm curious because of the upcoming release of "Trunks/Bardock" aswell as Movies 1 & 2.
No it did not have English dub with Japanese BGM. Conan pointed that out in god of chaos' review.

According to AnimeOnDVD, they do have that option on the TV-specials. They also reinserted the eyecatchers. Apparently the encoding is better than before, too. Too bad it's still cropped, and the ending-themes apparently cut off like half the image in the corner...Lavender Saiyan wrote:Damn that's messed up. I hope the Trunks/Bardock release is different.

Why does FUNimation's laziness with all things Dragon Ball continue to surprise me?SatoSky wrote:No it did not have English dub with Japanese BGM. Conan pointed that out in god of chaos' review.

Re: Broly Blu-Ray
Sorry, it doesn't have it. godofchaos did pick up the release and told me no option was present, nor was such advertised for the release. No dub w/t Japanese music track is available for this Blu-Ray. Yeah, it sucks.Faneca Daimao wrote:I thinks that it has the JP music

Maybe because every time we think there'll be consistency.Casual Matt wrote:Why does FUNimation's laziness with all things Dragon Ball continue to surprise me?SatoSky wrote:No it did not have English dub with Japanese BGM. Conan pointed that out in god of chaos' review.

Looks as if the Broly DVD's were a test for blu-ray, kind of an appetizer. Now we have to wait for the real thing in a year or two, when they have original JP music intact with English audio. Also by that time Funimation will be like, oh it's been over a year we can re-re-release it again! It's all a scam, but in a good way.
But is the audience for a dub with Japanese music really big enough to make a profit off of a release of Broli on Bluray?ultimateemail5000 wrote:Looks as if the Broly DVD's were a test for blu-ray, kind of an appetizer. Because they like to 'correct' their 'mistakes' months, or years after certain Dragonball related releases, so that they can cash in again..and again. With FUNi's Dragonball related releases, there's almost, always a catch. They do it so much, that it's hard for some to think it was purely just a matter of overlooking certain aspects of their releases without any negative intention. Oh well.Casual Matt wrote:

Well the way the season box sets are selling, I don't see why they wouldn't just pump out the version most of us have been waiting to see. There are also collectors out there who buy double dip DVD's.Taku128 wrote:But is the audience for a dub with Japanese music really big enough to make a profit off of a release of Broli on Bluray?ultimateemail5000 wrote:Looks as if the Broly DVD's were a test for blu-ray, kind of an appetizer. I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.
