Yet, Gohan, Goten, Trunks, Chi-Chi, Videl, Bra, Raditz and Gohan are in that image. Even though some are not even in the movie. Tarble has two mentions now but no appearance whatsoever outside of his own OVA. Surely that must mean something other than just "he's not relevant".

Well, he only has one mention in the actual movie and that's all that is needed. All of the aforementioned characters are still more relevant characters than Tarble whether it be because of being current characters or being the main character's brother who invaded Earth, provided exposition etc.

No he doesn't, also its stated several times by Goku and others that he doesn't go all out from the beginning and holds back to have a better fight, Why this seems to be a foreign concept to some still mistifies me

I couldn't agree more. The entire thing is extremely overblown.

And you're right the "DBS is inconsistent trash" train is rolling and it has gathered a ton of steam.

Late to this, but I just wanted to say that on the one hand, I agree; I really wish that images hadn't leaked, and I was super-proud of the fandom that none had up to that point. On the other hand, once they're out there, I'm not going to pretend like they don't exist, any more than Shida did when he confirmed his own work (thus verifying the leaks). All that said, I don't know why anyone would expect that kind of thing to be in the Kanzenshuu news feed, if they've been following the site at all in recent years.

I'd say sad. I guess you could put it having a similar circumstance to Super Saiyan God. I mean Beerus didn't stomp Goku, even though he could have. But it sounds disappointing to have Gogeta win badly. I'm sure that's one of the reasons people preferred Vegetto vs Zamasu in the anime to the manga. In the anime it doesn't feel nearly as much as a stomp as it was in the Manga. It was kinda refreshing for a fusion at least in power to not be the end all be all like in most other showings. But hopefully Broly gets a good fight in before going down.

How is it sad? Broly was wrecking Goku and Vegeta's shits before they fused.

Super happy that base Gogeta is finally on the big screen.
Though wIthout the widows peak he looks too similar to Ultimate Gohan, not sure what to feel about this.

Full Powered Broly getting completely thrashed by Gogeta Blue is really underwhelming and completely devalues Broly as a threat. It would be much better if it was a near-even all-out fight, with Gogeta Blue getting the upper hand towards the end. Something like SSJ1 Goku vs 100% Freeza or MUI Goku vs Awakened Jiren.

But in DBZ Movie 8, once Goku took the ki from each of the fighters, he killed Broly in one punch.

Unless you are of the opinion that the focus on his FP form is a big part of what made him such a shit character in the first place. Then it's great. The focus in this movie is on Broly's human side, his abusive relationship with his father, and the contrast between his life and the lives of his fellow Saiyan survivors. The fact that his FP form forced Gogeta to skip straight from SS to SSB says quite enough about his obscene strength, but Gogeta was only ever there to put him out of his misery. In that sense, it's a great parallel to M12.
