I´d buy this new format if it had all the color pages. I really hate Viz for not adding all the color pages.
Before any one asks me how I know they won´t add all the color pages, Rurouni Kenshin Viz Big doesn´t have all the color pages, it just has the color pages of the first chapter, like 20 pages, and I don´t think Viz will publish the 90 or so color pages that the first volume of Dragon Ball Viz Big should include.

I'm thinkin they're only going to have color in the chapters that were greyish in the earlier releases of the manga. I just don't know if it's worth gettin? I know; the new features seem pretty good, along with the quality is likely, going to be significantly better. I just don't know if I should get it, because I have the previous releases of the manga.
The editing thing isn't really a big deal to me. So; I just have to wait until it comes out, I guess?

Well, yeah. That's the entire point of the whole "color chapters" feature. Those grayscale pages in the original releases were actually in color when printed in Jump in both Japan and the USA. In these new manga, we get to have them in color. It works the same way in the Kanzenban in Japan, I think.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:I'm thinkin they're only going to have color in the chapters that were greyish in the earlier releases of the manga. Well, yeah. Those are the color chapters. See, when Dragon Ball originally ran in Weekly Jump, occasionally there would be a chapter done in color, but when the tankoubon came out these few color chapters were printed in sepia tone. Viz's graphic novels followed suit. That's what those grey chapters are. When the kanzenban were releashed, they had all of those chapters printed in color again. When people say that they hope Vizbig will have all the color chapters, they're saying they want it to be like the kanzenban in that way. Just so there's no misunderstanding, there's only about one or two color chapters per tankoubon/GN/kanzenban; it's not like there is or ever was a version of the manga that was entirely in color from start to finish.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:I'm thinkin they're only going to have color in the chapters that were greyish in the earlier releases of the manga.

Actually; I've never knew why they were grey like that when I first started reading the manga. I just thought it was something that was just within a chapter of every manga. Once I saw scans of; "The story of Trunks", in color; I went back and looked at my manga, and realized that's why they looked like that. I couldn't believe it took me so long to understand, though.
Thanks for the help, guys.

It took me a while to realize it as well when I started reading Viz's graphic novels. Heck, it was a a while before I even noticed that those chapters were different from the rest. It wasn't until I started trying to copy Toriyama's style by studying the manga real closely that I went "Hey, what's with all the toner in this chapter?"Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote: Actually; I've never knew why they were grey like that when I first started reading the manga.
