With how out of control Broly was as a super saiyan I'm guessing Broly will have train first in his Ikari mode and build up to the others. I feel like with how much people Like Ikari they'd try to keep it around more and It's also at about super saiyan blue levels of power, which should keep things balanced out.

Perhaps. I still find it hard to believe that Broly can use the Ikari without a tail.

The movie looks really good. Best looking db movie for sure. I didn't like the cgi, cause it was visible in a lot of fighting scenes. Also i am not the biggest fan of the Super quick fighting/flying, cause you can barely see what's going on. I loved the transformations and the new characters (especially Cheelai). Frieze was meh and so was his wish. The music is a mixed bag for me. I liked some parts and hated the other (The Broly and Gogeta songs, ughhh...). Even though the movie is 1.5h long i actually think it could have been longer.

I'd say it's better than rof and worse than bog. It gets a 6/10 from me. I am seeing it again, but i don't think it'll get better. Tbh i am pretty disappointed.

King Vegeta looks ugly and no where near as "cool" looking as his Movie 8 counterpart. (Or the anime counterpart) So Paragus and Beet have trouble fighting the spiders? Truly "low class scum."
Bardock is boring and I accept DB Minus. Bulma's new JPN actress sounds so much like "original Bulma" that it's scary and wonderful. (In a good way) Beerus is the perfect baby sitter and Bulla is in safe hands with him. Hey look it's Neiz's (1st Cooler movie) father and hot green alien girl.
Paragus is a dick just like his Movie 8 counterpart. Broly is Goku, Neiz's dad is Oolong and hot green girl is Bulma and I am okay with that. Freeza soldiers who can't fly? No wonder Freeza killed off his men in RF.
Steam coming out of Son's nose is adorable and Holy Moly Takahashi's art is sexy! Vegeta vs Broly is stunning even though Vegeta is absolutely pointless in this film. Yeah… Goku bouncing up and down makes sense (Getting them muscles ready and what not) but looks goofy and out of place within its context. SS1 sure gets a lot of love in this movie huh?
Damn, that SS1 into SSGod transition was beautiful, also boy does SSGod get a lot of love in this movie. So while SSGod Son Goku is lying in the snow mind talking to Piccolo what the fu@k is Vegeta doing? God he's pointless in this film. At least Yamucha gives exposition, Vegeta is useless.
The camera sure likes to focus on hot, green girl's butt a lot, I ain't mad about it though.I saw that slipt second Ultra Instinct movie, I saw it. So not going to lie, SSBlue Goku and Vegeta VS Rage/SS1 Broly is underwhelming and oh God the "Monkey Freeza" is back! Tate may animate well but his drawings/models look terrible. It's like looking at the end of the RF arc in Super all over again.
Hey look it's Gogeta, and… okay he's neat. This film really makes SS1 look badass and I thought SSBlue was the new "SS1."
Oh look it's SSBlue Gogeta, neat. What the fu@k is happening on screen right now?! It looks cool but I can't tell what's happening because it's a lot of "pew-pew and zoom-zoom."
So I'm mixed with this film. The prologue is disjointed, Broly, hot, green girl, Neiz's dad scenes are cute. Base/Rage Broly VS Base/SS1/SSGod Vegeta and Goku are superb and SSBlue Goku/Vegeta/Gogeta VS SS1/FP Broly is a mix of ugly and sensory overload. The ending is sweet, so I like parts of the film and feel indifferent to other parts. Somebody tell me what to feel!
If Vegeta is pointless in the film then so is Goku, since he does essentially no better than him fight-wise nor plot-wise in the movie.
I agree but since I like Son Goku more than Vegeta I am biased. But Goku does step in to fight completely disregarding Vegeta's current brawl with Broly. Goku isn't helping he is flat out taking over while Vegeta Blue steps in only when Goku struggles against SS1 Broly. It's clear that Son has a better time of handling Broly than Vegeta does.
It sort of reminds me of SS4 Goku and Vegeta VS. Omega Shenron, Goku lasts much longer than SS4 Vegeta who powers down after much less fighting time.
I think they preferred to cut out the fight suddenly rather than make Vegeta get beat up, like it happens at the end of each battle (they even said that this movie would be a change of pace for him, and well, that was not exactly what we saw). Sure enough there were much better ways to end the fight between Vegeta and Broly without Vegeta being beaten and not seeming rushed.

Suit yourself. I think new Broly as a concept of the old Broly just shits on everything that made the Broly icon a badass and well-beloved character in the franchise. Turned him into a big ol' misunderstood softie with an abnormally high power level purely for plot reasons.

The new Broly was born with an abnormally huge power level just like the old Broly. So to say it’s for “plot reasons” doesn’t really just apply to the new Broly at all.

In my experience, the people that made him a "well-beloved character" were young children who simply enjoyed a super strong brute with huge muscles and the cool legendary form. Among the older DB fans I know, I don't know a single one that likes Broly. Frankly, I doubt the popularity of Broly among the older portions of the fandom. Not that this says anything about the people who like Broly or that it magically makes anybody wrong, but I think you are really overstating how beloved he is and underestimating how very stratified the love for the character is.

I will admit, that it certainly seems that the old Broly created more tension than this one.

Haven't seen the film yet, but going by the synopsis and impressions posted all over the net, I get the impression that Super's Broly is just a pastiche of Goku and Gohan, a take that I don't find particularly interesting. Broly, as shallow as he is, at least was distinct by being so gleefully evil and powerful. Or in other words, Broly was entertaining by being exactly what we were told Saiyans were supposed to be.

@TheSaiyanGod You said a key word there "rushed." Many parts of the film felt rushed and needed some slowing down. We mock Toyotaro's constant spectator commentary within the Manga yet a couple of those would have helped break up the pacing a bit. At the very least give us an amusing "damn Kakarot butting in on my fight" type of line.

I say purely for plot reasons because the new Broly has no built-in lore for why he's so strong. He goes from being weak as shit to possibly stronger than Beerus in no time. The out-of-universe reason was to provide an opportunity for Goku & Vegeta to fight in different forms ofc, but he continues to grow until he hits Gogeta, and then just... stops.

Now they could've fixed it by calling him the Legendary Super Saiyan reincarnate or something. But they didn't. Why not? I don't know. But in this way, he feels more of a plot device in the same manner that Beerus' max power keeps jumping around places.

The old Broly had a reason for being strong. He was the legendary Super Saiyan of lore whose huge power consumed him and made him unstable. He was the standard to which the Saiyans and Piccolo had to match and overcome.

And frankly I'm happier he's no longer explicitly called that in-universe. Keep in mind that Goku's SSj form is already "legendary" in canon. I'd be happier if they went with a mutation explanation, and noticed how Broly is similar to Kale.

You don't need to doubt. The merchandise sales, fanart (both international and Japanese), and even internet comment sections (polarizing as they may be) speak a vastly different tale about the widespread popularity of Broly among the scope of DB fans. I've seen enough cosplays of him at anime conventions to know that he is well-liked in that regard too.

And then there's the numerous official statements by directors/producers (and even Toriyama!) of DB that say he is outright popular among the general consensus.

You speak from your experience, I speak from mine and official proof. If anything, I think you are really understating how beloved he is. DB's main appeal is not some deep story about compassionate and sympathetic characters. Broly's main appeal is his violent and sadistic nature, like how a Saiyan was originally supposed to be. The feeling of how dangerous and brutal a Saiyan with a lust for destruction truly is.

Kale's lore is that she's also a Legendary Saiyan. Specifically the type whose power appears once every 1000 years and is treated like a demon, whose power would lead to her self-destruction. Why every 1000 years? Cause of some spirit transferring BS? Ancient curse? Sounds cool? I really don't know but it's kept vague enough that we know it's a thing and it does exist.

In that sense, the Legendary Super Saiyan is nothing more than a unique Saiyan variant that gained infamy even among normal Super Saiyans. That's the takeaway of the title.

None of this actually addresses my point. I never disputed that he was popular. His popularity appears to be extremely stratified. That is all. I don't claim this to be a fact, but as far as I'm aware, he really isn't all that beloved among the older portions of the fandom.

Irrelevant.

Do you need many others to notice issues for you?

With so many fans easily hyped for anything new from Dragon Ball Super I wouldn't ever use quantity of opinion as meaningful.

In manga version (where Akira is more involved) Beerus is still waiting for either Goku or Vegeta to become his "long-awaited opponent".

This makes sense, Beerus didn't had to fight with everything he got against Goku after all.

Same score I gave it, can't say I was that much disappointed though, I expected more or less this, it's still DBS after all.
DBS anime is a fan service series that delivers irrelevant dialogue, inconsistent writing, and lazy designs.

The DB manga never had so many mistakes, nor those were this constant.

That characterization of Kale's as of right now is - depending on your mileage - "manga only" or "Toyotaro's headcanon". The anime version provides no such background, and there might be an arc dedicated to exploring this very thing in the future.
