Reminder: Toyotarou is teaming up with Toriyama on the story and getting a lot of praise as he's making it. Sounds like it's mainly Toyotarou's ideas coming to fruition, but we don't know how much input Toriyama has on the story/lore either.

Regardless, credit should be given to both but now we can assume Toyotarou taking a role in developing the story instead of adapting it.

If you're just using Broly, he's classified as a 'mutant' according to King Vegeta. Which is what Freeza, King Cold, and the Ginyu Force were to their species. Mutant in Dragon Ball seems to be shorthand for a person who have abilities above their race, but also mentally unstable. Like Toriyama cites Freeza and King Cold being mutants as the reason why they're so evil along with their power.

Didn't know Broly was classified that way, that's a pretty interesting concept

This is all going by what King Vegeta said, but it's the closest explanation we got for his power in the movie.

The train part is definitively a highlight (could also be a Solo reference). I also found a small DB Broly reference. I got a feeling that Boo will have a major role at some point but I could be wrong. Nevertheless, it's always great to expand on the Galactic Patrol and its members.

Why not is because Boo is a boring character that weakens the story almost any time he is on-screen/panel. I loved that they came up with excuses to not have him involved, especially when they replaced him with Freeza who was absolutely magnificent in that arc.

Why not is because Boo is a boring character that weakens the story almost any time he is on-screen/panel. I loved that they came up with excuses to not have him involved, especially when they replaced him with Freeza who was absolutely magnificent in that arc.

Buu is not boring at all. One of the best characters of Toriyama.

He has the most interesting abilities out of the entire cast, has consistently some of the most entertaining fights in the series, has limitless potential for good character moments and world building due to his status in the lore and, unlike many characters that got strong for no reason, he has an excuse to get abnormally strong in a short amount of time due to his insanely high starting battle power and absorption gimmick.

If it's Manga only I suspect they maybe waiting until summer and then for Manga and anime to retell Broly unless this arc isn't very long and Toyo starts Broly in a few months.

It's after Broly. The ToP ends, and they summarize the Broly arc and mention that Goku and Vegeta have gotten stronger and then jump right into this arc.

I guess I see your point, but I've already talked ad ad nauseam about how boring of a character I find Boo to be. I've also mentioned this several times, but I think Future Trunks is the only one that really got strong for a reason that isn't especially believable.

I couldn’t disagree more. The excuse was bad enough once, but twice is just lazy writing.

I couldn’t disagree more. The excuse was bad enough once, but twice is just lazy writing.

I don't especially care what the excuse is, it's enough for me that an explanation was given at all, because I simply don't care for Boo and would prefer they come up with any reason not to involve him. He should be limited to cute little gag scenes with Satan and not actually given anything close to a leading role. I think his involvement in Super so far has been absolutely perfect. He doesn't do much so he can't annoy the viewer/reader too much, and he was given the one fight against Basil where he won after he got pissed about Satan being collateral damage.
