Neko Ma-jin in DBZ 2

Post by The S » Wed Jun 09, 2004 11:10 am

Well, I posted this in another topic, but that topic seems to be ignored, so I'll repost it:

In the final level of the Japanese Dragonball Z 2, (the Neko Ma-jin related one), what is the storyline? I mean why the Hell are Goku and Tiencha (or Yamhan or whatever the fuck) at the same place as Z and Onio, why are Raditz and Nappa there, and why, God, why, is Z black and white as opposed to his normal, cheery blue?

I don't know about the storyline, but, about Z's weird clothes... that's not Z. That charachter is Neko Majin from the Neko Majin one-shot, not Z from Neko Majin Z.

Okay... if that's not Z, why is he with Onio? And I thought Neko Ma-jin was blue as well...

Neko Majin was grey. Is the Neko Majin is DBZ2 grey?

Neko Majin was a one-shot gag manga. In Neko Majin Z we find out that Neko Majin isn't a person, it's a race of magic cats that like to fight. In Neko Majin it used the same name as its race, but in NMZ it was a specific Neko Majin named "Z". Maybe DBZ2 is doing a tribute to both mangas?

I thought the main "neko" character was the same from Neko Majin, and Neko Majin Z. They look exactly the same on the covers, except in NMZ he's wearing the Turtle gi.

Doesn't the 1st page of Neko Majin Z explain the difference between them? I might be remembering wrong but I seriously doubt I'd have all that info...

I just looked at the cover of Neko Ma-jin again, and he appears to be a pale blue or blue-gray. Nothing like the black-and-white cow-spotted Neko Ma-jin of DBZ2.

O_o

Neko Majin is gray. Z is blue. DBZ2's Neko Majin is just wierd.

I guess he does look more gray, but he still kinda looks a little blue to me...

BTW, did they ever say what the kid Z hangs out with's name is? Or Onio's ex-wife?

In the last level of Dragonball Z 2, there are three Neko Majin spaces to land on. One is a rejuvination space, like Dende's space in the normal game. This space has Neko Majin (Black and White) standing on it. The other is a teleportation space, with Z running along a railroad track. There are two of these in the level, along with the V,M, and W jump spaces. I don't really understand the storyline for the level, but I think it has something to do with Goku wishing to Shenlon for another adventure, and getting sent to Neko Majin's world.

I just wish that Kuriiza would have been the boss instead of Dabura.

Dabura? Kuriiza would make MUCH more sense... :?

I seriously didn't mean that pun! I was going more for Marge Simpson's "O.. Re... Ga...No? What The Hell?" than the Hell --> Dabura pun.

Dabura is, like, the king of hell. Or a hell dimension. Which I think is different from the "underworld" sort of hell that the Z villians hang around in after they've been killed. Sort of. Thing.
