What if Super took place after GT?
The fandom always debating about how things in GT would be changed in order for Super to preceed it but I ask the opposite question. What would change in Super in order for the anime to fit after the events of GT and how would it affect characters like Pan, Frieza, Zamasu, Broly and so on? How would the story go with Goku being stronger than he was at the beginning of Super?

Goku's gone at the end of DBGT, so I'd imagine quite a bit.

Goku left with Shenron after GT and I feel like Goku returning would ruin the point of the ending of GT.

Well for me if GT was then Canon and Super took place after I would see things like this.
Goku is send not in the after life but instead in the ryushinkai where every Dragon from Dragon Balls live in, there Goku would train his Super Saiyan 4 and master it, the ryunshinkai would yiled importance for the Super Dragon Balls plot later. Then Beerus wakes up because he has dreamed off the Super Saiyan God, on earth Vegeta is the one who becomes said Super Saiya-jin God thanks to the ritual held with Gohan, Trunks, Goten, Bra and Pan during the fight Vegeta succeed to combine the power of the God to his Super Saiyan 4 form.
For the next arc to work power scalling wise I suggest to make the Cooler movie canon and to add the Yo Son Goku friends returns OVA in the mix, like that Tarble is also introduce. Frieza would have a high form similar to the fifth form Cooler and would succeed to combine this form with the Golden one.
All the Z-Warrior would fight Frieza army once more with a twist Cooler will be there too, making Gohan the deuteragonist of Vegeta protagonist, we will have the whis Shenanigan. So the first two arc would play mostly with Vegeta as protag then arrive the Universe 6 vs Univers 7 where here the five chosen warrior to fight is Vegeta, Gohan, Majuub, Pan and let's say Ledgic (Let's bring back this fellow would you) Here no monaka to be a motivator stuff.
The combat would play as follow, Pan vs Bergamo, Majuub vs Auta Magetta, Vegeta vs Kyabe, Gohan vs Frost and Ledgic vs Hit things will end with Gohan vs Hit reason invoked later for Zamasu to takes the form of Black Gohan (with a twist instead he would take Mirai Gohan body) speaking of Zamasu this arc will reveal the Ikari form thanks to Mirai Trunks sooner with Mirai Trunks becoming during this Arc Super Saiyan 4, Black Gohan would become Super Saiyan 4 Rosé and then would fuse with Zamasu becoming Gattai Zamasu I imagine here one of the Z-Warrior performing the Mafuba seal perfectly on Gattai Zamasu or either Gohan or Mirai Trunks succeeding to launch a Genkidama that would blast once and for all Gattai Zamasu.
Leading to the Tournament of Power, where here the team would short by one member so because of that Vegeta would have no choice to incorporate Cooler and Frieza in the team with Gohan agreeing but being against it at heart being short to one member they would have to succeed to bring back Goku from the Ryushinkai so a mini arc would occur at the end the team would be Vegeta, Goku, Gohan, Majuub, Tarble (trained), Ledgic, Goten, Trunks, Cooler, Frieza.
Vegeta would form a team with his younger brother Tarble overseeing him during this tournament, Majuub and Ledgic would also form a team, I imagine Gohan being together with Goten and Trunks forming a trio leaving Goku alone as a wild card like he usually is. Cooler and Frieza being more wilder mastering both the fith form and the Golden form they would pose a good threat to the other universes.
Due to both Goku and Vegeta knowing the fusion dance and Goku by having learning on is own during his stay in the ryushinkai God ki I Imagine Gogeta 4 Blue being a vicious oponent able to beat Jiren easily. Making then Universe 7 winning more succesful.
Then we have the Broly movie who would be a bit different with a Berserker Super Saiyan 4 Broly against Gogeta 4 Blue. Also why not add a fight Frieza vs Cooler for good measure.

simply many things can not be given the other world the raised in another way besides that both work with different logic.
and without goku beerus it would end with the earth in the first place
the only possibility I see is that you take ideas from both to advance the series

It depends if you want it to take place after the last episode of GT or after the GT special.
Either way, the series would have been a lot more tense since Super doesn't have any tense moments since you know who will survive since you've seen the last few Z episodes.
If it takes place after GT's last episode:
We could basically have the remaining GT cast feature with an emphasis on the new generation (Pan, Goten, Trunks, Bra, Uub). You could have Goku mentoring them from beyond since coming back would have made him the trump card when a villain arrives. Scaling back the power levels would have been interesting and something the series needs. Therefore I would also somehow exclude Vegeta from the adventures since he's way too powerful. With some character development, Pan, Goten, Trunks, Bra and Uub could provide for an interesting lead cast.
If it takes place after the GT special:
It would have to come up with a lot of new characters. We have Goku jr and Vegeta jr, Pan and Pakku. You could possibly include Goku as a Force ghost kinda character but the rest of the original cast I believe is dead. This opens up a clean slate to create original characters, adventures and locations (since it takes place so many years after GT) It would have been an interesting experience to say the least.
Either way, the series would have been a lot more tense since Super doesn't have any tense moments since you know who will survive since you've seen the last few Z episodes.
