One of the photos on ANN which was used not to illustrate a complaint but that he gets touchy feely with girls who are clearly underage had the subject complain because she’s still a member of Vic’s cult and as far as she’s concerned it was consensual. It (along with one other photo from his fan club) has since been removed from the article. All the photos that remain are attached to specific complaints about his behaviour.Boku no Hitto wrote:Plus ANN's "photo evidence" was debunked by the fans in question so they have even less of a ground to stand on.

You do know people likely did talk to staff, right? It’s probable those complaints were quickly brushed off.Boku no Hitto wrote:When they actually have photo evidence, or something caught on video this doesn't mean Jack shit. Most if not all of these "claims" happened at cons/meet and greets. Never been to one myself but I'm sure there's dozens of adults, security and chaperone's and none of them spoke up when these events took place? No one notified staff? You just go days, weeks, months, years at a time to wake up and be like "huh.. I think I was raped?" Nah it doesn't work like that. Not in the real world. Plus ANN's "photo evidence" was debunked by the fans in question so they have even less of a ground to stand on.
My brother was molested by my step dad and his home boy when I was around 3. One of my uncle's was an air Force major at the time and pushed for a rape kit and found signs of forced entry but no bodily fluids. We thanked my brothers lucky stars cuz dude had been to jail previously and had an STD with no visible signs(forgot what the actual term for that is). The friend dipped but my step dad almost got killed the next night when my uncle's found him, pretty sure he died in jail later cuz Arkansas jails don't play that shit.
If anyone takes these sorts of allegations seriously it's me, but I still want the goddamn evidence first before anyone gets prosecuted or lives are ruined. Heresay means Jack and shit in the court of law.
Re: Vic Mignogna
Vic being guilty according to the court of public opinion doesn't make him guilty in the legal sense of the word. The fact that the accusers didn't file a police report, or a complaint to HR at Funimation makes me believe him. Again, it could be that he's just an over affectionate guy who's not aware of social norms and fans not being able to separate the character from the actor. I think that they're trying to kick Vic out to cover for presumably similar allegations made against other VAs at cons. I don't trust the word that comes out of Marici's mouth either, she could be embellishing things.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:The evidence is the multiple accounts and allegations against him from fans and fellow voice actors. If that many people and most of are unconnected are coming out then what on Earth makes you think Vic isn't guilty? What exactly do you think FUNimation are hiding? They haven't said anything regarding him and he has only been replaced on one dub for all we know could have been at the directors discretion not the company. It's quite clear that FUNi don't want to close the door on him completely yet but each day it's increasingly likely they might have too. It's the complete opposite of what you are saying. Why else do you think some people are still peeved that FUNi still haven't released a formal statement yet?Yasai11 wrote:Here's the problem that I have: There's currently no evidence to suggest that Vic is actually guilty of the things people accused him of doing. Either the anime conventions, or Funimation messed up by not laying ground rules and are trying to save themselves by throwing Vic under the bus without investigating the claims first. There's a very good reason why most VAs join a unions, and it's to prevent themselves from being caught up in drama like this.Scsigs wrote: I mean, a LOT of companies are doing the same things to people under controversies. Netflix ditched Louis CK & Kevin Spacey when THEIR allegations came out. Disney, though they seem to have a sliding scale when it comes to these things because they forgave Vanessa Hudgens for her nude leaks back when High School Musical was still a thing, distanced themselves from James Gunn when HIS controversy came about. This isn't a new thing. Companies have been doing it for YEARS.
Did any of the accusers settle their claims in court, or even notify staff about this? Vic himself seems more like an upstanding guy who's overly affectionate. I have more reason to believe that Funimation is more guilty than Vic, and trying to hide something illegal. Also, Polygon and ANN aren't credible sources. They're just mouthbreathers with an agenda.
I don't think Vic is that important to FUNi anymore especially compared to folks like Monica so I think they do need to cut ties completely with him at this point.
Are is there any legal evidence that Vic is actually guilty? Did he have to personally settle these claims in court, or have a lawsuit placed against him on sexual misconduct? I can't take these allegations seriously because the person accusing him could be lying to ruin his reputation.

Only about 230 out of 1000 sexual assault cases go reported; and a lot of the women who DO think to report it are silenced, and/or afraid to do so precisely because of people online going "oh wow, she's totally lying! What a *****!".Yasai11 wrote:The fact that the accusers didn't file a police report, or a complaint to HR at Funimation makes me believe him.
I think you're underestimating just how hard it is to make a decision like that.

And what are the police going to do? Take apart each girl's wardrobe and scan their clothes for Mignogna's finger prints? Go through the footage of each and every con throughout the past 20 years? Send in a private investigator or spy to follow Mignogna everywhere he goes? Read Vic Mignogna's mind (and no, polygraph tests don't work)?
Sexual Assault cases are CRIMINAL cases; that means a jury of 12 must be convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt of the suspect's guilt. Trying to "prove" anything would be like you trying to prove that I kicked you in the nuts when we were alone together. It's just not going to happen.

Persons plural. Because it’s multiple people. Again Vic has been accused of inappropriate misconduct for years by multiple people. Your entire conspiracy theory that all these women are lying is completely asinine.Yasai11 wrote: because the person accusing him could be lying to ruin his reputation.
If multiple unrelated people with no connection or relationship to each other all said the exact same person is a shitbag...that person is almost definitely a shit bag.

Who cares what other people think. Fear and ignorance of the law are never good excuses to withhold crucial information that might lead to a person's arrest. The police have the equipment and skills necessary to handle cases of sexual assault.Fionordequester wrote:Only about 230 out of 1000 sexual assault cases go reported; and a lot of the women who DO think to report it are silenced, and/or afraid to do so precisely because of people online going "oh wow, she's totally lying! If anything, it makes the accuser even more suspicious seeing as how they never bothered to tell anyone until now. Doesn't Funimation have an HR and legal department to handle these claims? If these allegations were serious then why didn't they fire Vic the first time he got accused in 2010? None of this drama makes any lick of sense and I have to work extra hard now to figure out which side is telling the truth, and which side is lying because of the negligence on the part of the conventions and Funimation.
Re: Vic Mignogna
Are you retarded? People can and often will lie to ruin another person's career. I have no reason to believe the accusers because I wasn't present at the locations where said incidents take place, and the fact that they didn't communicate with the staff at conventions, Fumination, or the police makes me even more suspicious of their claims.MasenkoHA wrote:Persons plural. Maybe you should get off your high horse and stop moral grandstanding before accusing someone of being a shitbag, hypocrite!
Re: Vic Mignogna
Have you learned that there are multiple claims from people working at the staff like other voice actors or directors, and not just random convention-goers? There are way too many of them to just be a "coincidence" where they grouped up to attack one oh-so-innocent person.Yasai11 wrote:Are you retarded? You're either uninformed or straight out trolling.
Re: Vic Mignogna
Why? I know critical thought is reaalllly hard for you but why would all these people want to ruin Vic’s career? I genuinely want to hear your laughable explanation why so many con goers and voice actors have it out for poor Vicky. Do you not understand the difference between one person claiming something and multiple people making similar claims going back years and years?Yasai11 wrote: Are you retarded? This is such a shitty thing I can’t even believe this. God I hope a victim of sexual assault never confides in youI have no reason to believe the accusers because I wasn't present at the locations where said incidents take place,
“Sorry I didn’t see you get raped so I have no reason to believe you”
Do you know how fucking hard is it to go to the police and say “Hey so and so was really creepy and hit on me” or “so so grabbed me and touched me a little too close”and the fact that they didn't communicate with the staff at conventions, Fumination, or the police makes me even more suspicious of their claims.
I mean you yourself seem to think testimonies mean nothing without video proof.
Lol whatbefore accusing someone of being a shitbag, hypocrite!

Just watched this video about Vic @ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UxWjBner5wo
I feel bad for the guy, I saw a bunch of photos on an article and without context I think I insulted him unfairly. If he's being wrongly accused that's gonna stick with him mentally until he finally breaks from it but that could take months or years, if ever, and people on Twitter/Facebook/YouTube don't think about that. They just love to trash talk a guy who they never met and assume he's that monster without actual evidence.
This.. this was pretty upsetting even though it's not the first time someone's called a rapist/pedo/murderer without showing proof and then he (or she) ends up locked up and have his/her name and image ruined for the rest of his/her life. It leads to depression and worse.
Hope Vic isn't feeling like he's a monster as that could lead to suicide in some cases of depression.
Anyway, that's it.

It’s all a conspiracy to ruin Vic and destroy his career.
When Dragon Ball Super Broly made a lot of money in the box office a bunch of sjw feminist and beta cuck males gathered together in their secret society to decide which Dragon Ball actor’s career they could destroy for fame and glory.
The dart of hate landed on Vic Mignogna’s angelic face.
So they went back in time with their time machine they got for sale to put plants in to feed the notion that Vic is a creep.
Now was the time to strike. #FreeVic

Unfortunately those videos have done their damage. A lot of people believe them because they want to and they are being spread all over social media no matter how many times you point out the flaws and lies in them.
The StandwithVic people thinks everyone is lying including other voice actors (also in DBS Broly) just to make this grand conspiracy because they are jealous of Vic’s success. I bet Monica Rial wished she played Broly that is why she is doing this.

Hey, guys. Please watch this Repzilla video if you haven't. Watched it all & I think he looked at this situation well enough. And, I'm not expecting him to change anyone's opinions. I just brought it up because he's generally a guy whose videos I've watched who I can trust in the commentary community, especially since he doesn't seem to be a bad person, like some OTHER channels I could name, but won't. Again, these allegations against Vic aren't coming out of the woodwork. They've been around since 2003 and are simply under a greater microscope with a higher level of awareness now.
The accusations that his own coworkers, people who are actually fucking around him on a regular basis, completely fly in the face of the idea that we're dealing with somebody who just didn't know he was habitually stepping over personal boundaries.
And even beyond the coworkers, many of the accounts that con-goers make go far beyond "hugs and kisses" into actual sexual advances. This isn't a case of "golly gee willikers I just show too much affection" and trying to paint it like that to make him seem sympathetic is just hopelessly irresponsible and naive to a degree that's damn near willful.
