The assumption that SSB Gogeta from DBS Broly is equal to Black arc Vegito.

Dragonball doesn't have a single tone. It has both silly and serious moments, both humor and drama, just like real life. The idea that a work of fiction should be only all-comedy or all-serious is unnatural and frankly, retarded.

Yuli Ban wrote:I've noticed that a lot of these "dumb" fan theories aren't really all that dumb. Legitimately dumb theories are getting mixed up with easy misconceptions, debunked theories from when the series was still airing, dub-created inconsistencies, and elements of the lore explained after the fact.

Gohan is Goten's father = Dumb. Who was 8-year-old Gohan fucking that led to Goten? What, is Goku Goten's real mommy?

Goku Black might be using Future Goku's dead body = Possible speculation that has since been debunked, but potentially possible at the time it was made since time travel was involved.

All of Z, GT, Super, Heroes, Online, everything after Namek is just Super Saiyan Son Goku's dying dreams of what could have been as the planet explodes and that's why there are inconsistencies in canon = Dumb. Period.

Yamoshi was the villain of movie 20 = It seemed obvious at the time that the new movie would have something to do with the original Super Saiyan God. Only in hindsight is it funny that literally nothing came of Yamoshi.

Saiyans reproduce asexually = Dumb. For starters, Son Goku was happy to display his wiener all throughout Dragon Ball, and the very first joke in the entire series is literally about castrated (dragon) balls from none other than Mr. Marriage-Is-A-Food himself. If you reproduce asexually, you don't need one of those. Maybe they just thought that since Goku was voice by a woman, that meant Saiyans played both roles? Still, explain Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta's VAs then.

King Cold might be stronger than Freeza = Reasonable to believe. His design is that of Freeza's second form, and the dub line was that the senshi detected two equal powers approaching Earth while Toriyama himself said that both Cold and Freeza are mutants of their race, possessing extraordinary power (with Cold still behind Freeza). If one believes that Cold is indeed capable of more transformations, it's reasonable to believe he might at least approach Freeza in power.

The difference between outdated speculation and purely dumb fan theories is that the latter have no basis whatsoever and require leaps that even Dragon Ball wouldn't take. A rogue kaio being Goku Black was just as possible as Future Goku's reanimated body in a world of magic and cyborgs. Goten being Goku Black is dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb-dumb, always has been, always will be, world without end amen.
These are all good points.

The reason was due to changes to the Beerus arc in Super. Mainly the one line referring to him was removed. This along with the uncertainty of what else was being altered and reworked in Super was why I felt that was the case. The new movie has obviously proven that idea wrong now as the BoG line has been moved to Broly.

How about the one where BoZ characters can withstand the pull of a black hole because the portal to the Dead Zone supposedly counts as one? And that by doing so, BoZ characters vastly surpass the speed of light?

Also remember that according to the English dub, Raditz is faster than light, but Instant Transmission is slightly slower than light.

You seem to support anything that downplays DB characters, and dismiss anything that makes them seem powerful.

Yeah, let's not do this "my favorite characters are super-duper strong" noise. The perception that "X" characters in fiction are required to be at a certain level of power & abilities is purely subjective and the end goal is inevitably to compare them with characters from other mediums of fiction so as to see who is the "strongest" or "best". That totally should not matter since that's not why any of us enjoy Dragonball. I don't read the manga or watch the anime so that I can 'prove' to a bunch of Marvel/DC fans why DB or other Japanese characters are superior to their's and I don't read Marvel/DC comics so I can gloat about how absurdly powerful their characters are. Its not like Naruto is simply inferior or not as popular of a series as DB just because their characters don't touch DB's tier of power.

The idea that Ultra Instinct isn't a power boost.

Its not completely absurd when you go back to Kid Goku's training with Popo and how he was getting beat by a more-skilled doll version of himself despite it not being any stronger than him. Though admittedly, there at least needs to be something of a strength boost in order for Goku to surpass Jiren in raw power. Roshi managed to dodge some of Jiren's blows in the manga but he didn't have nearly enough actual might to harm Jiren so skill alone cannot be the end-all of fights in DB.

Depends on which you mean, the "limit breaking" form, or the technique. The technique doesn't give you a power boost

A fact it is power boost is dumb, it shouldn't be. Wasn't it even said that Jiren's punches do not harm Goku because he was evading weak spots? Wouldn't it be the same with attacking? That's what SHOULD happen at least. But of course they had to ruin a promising idea and basically turned UI into another power boost that sooner or later will still somehow turn out to be too slow. It's matter of time.

They should make it that Goku already has power to beat Jiren but simply can't hit him and UI let him evade attacks and actually touch Jiren and harm his weak spots. hat would be much more interesting that what it turned out to be - basically already generic thing about achieving new form to beat opponent that is too strong.
