Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
I'm not one for being overly dramatic online (or offline, for that matter), but Jesus! This has gotten ridiculously out of hand.
I'm glad the police apologized and are helping to fix the door (look further down on Adam Sheehan's Twitter post), but still, this is yet another example of why people are afraid to come forward with allegations of sexual abuse: the reactions can get violent.
There's nothing inherently wrong with ignorance and it's VERY tempting to believe that we live in a world or even a country where if someone experienced harassment or sexual assault they would feel safe going to the authorities, but those are not the realities. The more I read, even this thread alone, the clearer it is why cases go unreported. If a Z list celeb can engender this kind of response, can you imagine what people getting assaulted by people with real power have to deal with?
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

Happiness is climate, not weather.
Nothing against the good folks here and other places but anime fans by and large are a fucking cesspool and it's a small wonder why I've spent almost all of my internet "life" navigating around those fuckmuffins of 4Chan and the like.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words? Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up! Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes! Cold World (Fanfic) "It ain't never too late to stop bein' a bitch." - Chad Lamont Butler
Jesus freakin' christ. I don't care WHAT someone believes, but the fact that someone would actually go to the lengths of calling in a fake SWAT team over this shit is...amazingly fucking sick, twisted, and wrong. Like, what the actual fuck is wrong with whoever did this? I also can't believe we live in a country that refuses to put tougher gun laws in place while simultaneously making it that goddamn easy to call SWAT on someone. How. Why. The fuck.
Do we know who it was that had SWAT called on them, or is that being purposely withheld for their protection? If it's the latter, that's fine and perfectly understandable, I'm just curious if we know.

Wait it's possible to just call SWAT to knock down people's doors?
Spoiler:
Super carries on much of Dragon Ball and Z's charm in ways that might not immediately be obvious, while also bringing something new to the table. I certainly can't think of any previous arcs like Goku Black, and, for all its problems, the Tournament of Power is possibly the most ambitious storytelling endeavor in series history as far as how its narrative unfolds. It's also a thrill ride, which is all I wanted and exactly what I got. Super also canonizes decades old fan theories in ways that very naturally tie into the overall fabric of Dragon Ball's world in satisfying ways. All in all, Dragon Ball, Z, and Super are all well worth experiencing.

Unfortunately yes. For a while a few years back, it was seemingly becoming the preferred go-to method of assholes with an axe to grind against content creators and/or celebrities that they got pissed off at online. Sadly, some people think calling in the cops and possibly getting people shot for no reason is 'a prank'.

This whole scandal with Vic Mignogna has truly shown an incredibly dark and twisted side of the anime fandom.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

The epic tale of how Sean Schemmel blocked me on Twitter:
I tagged him in a thread explaining how his performance wasn't rerecorded when FUNi were redoing parts of the early Z dub for the Orange Bricks.
He thought I was misrepresenting his work by saying he wasn't in something he was in.
I explained how that wasn't the situation & did a bit of a sarcastic kinda thing involving the rerecordings FUNi did for the Z dub to show how stupid that was.
He said they didn't record him & not use his recordings.
Blocked & he deleted his response tweets to me.
???
Profit...?
Um, Geekdom made that video to debunk that other guy. If you SERIOUSLY think that Geekdom got exposed, you're an idiot. I seriously hope you're joking. I'm giving you an out from looking stupid. Take it.
