Anomolies

Post by Rockman » Sat Jan 24, 2004 9:35 pm

There are many anomolies throughout the Dragon Ball series. Lets talk about them. I will start off by discussing this one.

This picture shows Vegeta down with the Spirit Bomb in the background. Notice how he doesn't have a tail. When he transformed into a Super Saiyan 4, he grew a tail. Goku keeps his tail when he transforms back into his original form, so why didn't Vegeta keep his?

Sorry, I can't really comment on this one. I haven't seen the GT episodes of Vegeta transforming into SSJ4 since FUNimation hasn't released them and I don't care for fansubs.

I think I can offer a theory though. When Goku transforms into SSJ4, his tail was already grown out from the elder kai's 'training' (tch, right). When Vegeta became a Super Ozaru (then SSJ4) his tail hadn't grown out yet, he had merely been changed by the Blutz wave amplifier. Perhaps his tail was going to grow out later, but he haden't given it a chance.

Deus ex Machina hit it right on the head. I mean, as far as I know, there's no official explanation for this, but that's just kind of the logical assumption that you'd make. Son Goku attained Super Saiya-jin 4 through natural means, using his tail to first reach Golden Oozaru and then further to Super Saiya-jin 4. Vegeta used technology and cheated, so he didn't need a tail.

Thanks for your agreement, but I must point out something in your message that I can't agree with. Vegeta did not 'cheat' to become SSJ4

Goku was able to become an Ozaru after his tail grew out, then absorbing the Blutz waves off the Earth and became Super Ozaru, then SSJ4.

Lots of people say Vegeta used the Blutz wave amplifier to 'cheat' his way to SSJ4, but that's not true. He no longer had a tail, so he could no longer 'naturally' transform. The only thing the Blutz wave amplifier did was change him into an Ozaru. From there Vegeta became a Super Ozaru on his own, and then a SSJ4 on his own.

By saying Vegeta cheated using the Blutz wave amplifier, then by the same logic Goku 'cheated' by absorbing the Blutz waves off the Earth.

Except that Goku could then go SSJ 4 at any time, without going Oozaru and absorbing Brutz waves. Vegeta still needed the machine to transform.
