Well, I honestly can't call myself a fighting game fan. The only game that even resembles a fighting game that I have enjoyed(and isn't a DBZ title), is Super Smash Bros. So I'm hardly a good judge of fighting games as a whole, I find them far too complex usually.Captain Awesome wrote:I loved the cutscenes, the fact the PAL version had the Japanese vocal cast, but as a fighting game fan, no matter how much I loved DBZ, I knew it was crap.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:Am I seriously the only person who absolutely LOVED the first Budokai game?
But to each their own I guess.

One of the few games I'm looking forward to owning when I jump over to next gen in the near future. From the extended video it looks like they've taken the PSP Shin Budokai system (rather than Budokai 3) as their starting point and souped it up from there. Sad to see the in-game cut scenes for the ultimate moves disappear.
With regards to Budokai 1, the story being told with in-game graphics was the novelty of that version of the series. It was a nice break from the more serious beat-em ups, especially from a fan's perspective. I'm actually fairly glad that Budokai 2/3 didn't use the same story mode type otherwise watching through Burst Limit's story cut-scenes would have been repetitive, however much of an eye-candy it would turn out to be.

Am I the only one who hated the "Dragon Rush" in Budokai 3. I mean, the Com would always spam it and it was annoying as hell.
Anyway, I will be buying this, because I already own the majority of the games released here, and some that weren't. As long as it's not trash.
Piccolo looks weird to me though. His coloring is off, and he has black claws like in the manga. He looks like his model from Budokai 1, but ya know, better.

Big deal that it has some similarities with Budokai 1, didn't Budokai 3 have a lot in common with Budokai 1. Anyways it looks a lot more exciting then Budokai 1. Either way this is a defiant buy.

Nah, I've heard this complaint a lot.omegacwa wrote:Am I the only one who hated the "Dragon Rush" in Budokai 3. I mean, the Com would always spam it and it was annoying as hell.
At some point in the hundreds of hours I've played Budokai 3, though, it stopped being an issue. It's hard to get a challenge out of Z3 mode anymore, or anything and everything in the Dragon Arena.
