The movie has 106 confirmed countries so far.
It has surpassed even Toei's expectations (90+ countries).
Funnily enough I found that same site yesterday except the forecast was 200,000 tickets sold. So it looks like after how well it's done on the first day, they've gone and more than doubled that initial forecast.TheRed259 wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2019 3:27 am As for France I found this:

France, a surprise market? Hardly. Dragon Ball has been dormant because it's been on pay TV but dude lots of people in their 30's and 40's remember it fondly. Everyone watched it back in the day. Even grandmas knew what it was. And the manga has been going strong all the time.Bullza wrote: Thu Mar 14, 2019 5:47 pm https://mobile.twitter.com/boxofficeleb ... 9470381056
The movie sold 150,348 tickets on its first day in France. Not sure what that would be in gross, unless someone from there knows the average ticket price but that's pretty good.

Edit: Well it's not the best way of doing it but I can see that Cold Pursuit sold 153,700 tickets over a weekend which amounted to $1.22 million. Alita sold 149,300 over a weekend which amounted to $1.24 million. So a ballpark of $1.2-1.3 million for Broly on opening day based on that.
If that 500,000 forecast were to hold and looking at how other movies performed...it'd be around $4 million. Glass sold 462,000 tickets on its opening weekend which amounted to $3.52 million. This could be a surprise market.
I do not understand why you're talking about surprise Bullza? Dragon ball is extremely popular in France.Real Goku wrote: Sat Jan 26, 2019 4:51 am Hello PFM18, i live in France and i can tell you than the problème is not the popularity of DB. Back in 80/90 the rating was between in 30 and 40% and today you still had this type of thing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1Sde7ngCQc that show how much it's popular here .
The problème is différent it's never easy in France for some reason![]()
There have been problems with the rights in France in recent years, too.Real Goku wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 7:15 amI do not understand why you're talking about surprise Bullza? I'm French and the price for a ticket is approximately 10€/11 Dollards.
I remember when DBZ movies 12-13 came out at the cinéma in France in the 90's, I read somewhere in a magazine that it sold nearly ONE MILLION tickets... Unfortunately I don't have that magazine anymore and can't provide proof, but it just shows how big Dragon Ball has been in France.Bullza wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 2:14 pm Well I say surprise because I was expecting within the same range of the other European markets so like $1-2 million. I didn't even expect it to do as well as in Italy because all three movies released there.
The other two movies didn't have a proper release in France so for this to come out and possibly do so much better is surprising to me. Again if that sites projection were to become reality that'd be about $4 million. Not far off from the UK, Spain and Germany grosses combined in just a week.
Wikipedia has it 116,000,000.Bullza wrote: Sun Mar 17, 2019 8:56 pm Right so finally we have a proper bonafide update, not one that I've had to calculate myself. So according to this...
https://www.comscore.com/Insights/Rankings?country=US#1
Domestic - $28,222,277
International - $85,946,717
Worldwide - $114,168,994
The big disparity there is that Box Office Mojo has it at $30.71 million domestically instead, a whole $2.5 million more. Now I'm not 100% sure but it may be that Comscore stopped tracking it after 1/27 when Box Office Mojo had it at $28,222,458.
In which case the movie would really have a worldwide gross of $116.65 million.
I don't know the breakdowns for France, Portugal or Belgium yet except it was #2 for the weekend in France. I just know what it says there that it made $1.976 million this weekend. That's still an estimate so it'll probably change a little.
But yeah that's now the most accurate figure that we have.
They haven't got around to updating it yet. When the movie was announced at making over ¥12 billion, so between $107-116 million, they just went with the high end.Fearless wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2019 4:13 am Wikipedia has it 116,000,000.

In France it was #2 and made $2.75 million in 5 days with 347,000 tickets sold. Apparently it sold 400,000 tickets after 7 days and now the forecast is that it will have sold 560,000 tickets after 14 days. That'd be about $4.4 million if it held true.
The Belgium grosses are listed...but Dragon Ball ain't there. It did come out in Belgium right?
