Those aren't fan made. They're during a quick flashback when Freeza is talking to Vegeta about how his race rebelled against him. Can't remember the exact episode number but I know it's around when Freeza first arrives after Gohan and the others have summoned Porunga and Vegeta is challenging him.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Really ugly animation then. :? But I guess I shouldn't expect much from the Freeza arc. :P

Are you sure that's not from the scene when Goku and Freeza are standing on the tall rocky pillar right after their fight has begun, and Freeza is having his "I've destroyed many Saiyans, but none were like him" inner monologue?

I think that's where those frames are from, but I may be mistaken. As for it looking ugly, you do realize those are pretty low-quality screen captures right? It looks about as good as the rest of the anime..

edit: I was exactly right. Guess I've watched the Freeza saga far too many times. (I'm somewhat of a Freeza fanatic). Here is the scene you are looking for.

It takes place during Episode #75 of DBZ, I think.

It doesn't look bad...does it? At least, I don't think so.

You're right, it doesn't, King Vegeta looks a little off, but drawings themselves are above average for the series, especially some of the garbage in the Freeza saga.

When it was top quality animation from the Namek/Frieza arc; it appeared magnificent. ( to me atleast. )

Example?

Fuckin' epic animation right there. Personally, I'd choose the quality animation from the Vegeta, and Freeza arcs over the Buu arc's content

I think a lot of what had to do with some of the later parts of the series not living up to earlier episodes animation wise, is because of the direction, and that the fights (in my opinion) became less interesting, less hand to hand, more teleporting around and popping behind people etc.

I think probably one of the best fights in terms of direction and animation, would have to be Goku vs Piccolo and the end of Dragonball.

Now that was freaking awesome.

You know what sucks? I still haven't seen the animated sequence of that entire fight. I'm still missing the final two FUNi releases of Dragonball dvds. *raises fist at Sakura Media (my only source for anime at the mall practically..)

I agree, but when there was hand-to-hand, like the Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight, it was glorious.

Oh, crap--did I say 75? I meant Episode #87. Its Funimation title is "The Ultimate Battle" its Japanese title is "The super battle begins!! I will defeat you!!" or something crazy like that. Sorry, dunno what made me say 75, it's definitly #87.

Ah my bad FindKenshi. XD I just knew it was one of the scenes where Freeza was talking about the Saiyajins.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Yeah, there were some beautifully animated episodes in the Freeza Arc.

One episode of the Freeza / Piccolo fight specifically comes to mind. I think it was 81.

I second that. Goku vs Cell was hand-to-hand and contained some beautiful animation too.

Some of the best physical battle scenes in the entire anime adapation were in The Trunks Story: DBZ TV Special. I mean, seriously, some of those fights were just Godlike. #17 and #18 were just brutal in that movie, and the sound editing along with the animation made it seem even more so. Like when Trunks slams down in that field of roses (Never mind what a field of roses is doing in the middle of a wrecked city), but the animation and sound effect just made it seem so painful. As well as #18 smashing Gohan, and then all the broken glass falling on him. God, I loved that special.

Yeah, if there should ever be a fight to be referenced from for a live action DragonBall Z fight; the Trunks TV special is the thing to view.
