Mmm. Well, good on Nick, and shame on the KickVic guy. Though, I will remind you that if you meet one "KickVic guy"...you've met one "KickVic guy". One doesn't represent all of them anymore than one black person would represent his entire race.

Oh, I'm not saying he did in this case, but, I have talked to him before. He's on the side of #IStandWithVic; and some of the stuff he disliked from #KickVic is why.

Frankly I think it's a bit absurd to cast judgement on the accused based on the actions of supporters of the victims. If a guy burns down a library and then says "it's because EA puts microtransactions in their games", then that guy is a fucking crazy person, but I am not going to suddenly start acting like EA isn't a corrupt, greedy-ass company.

The Patrolman wrote: Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:06 pm Well here's my experience on the whole. The KickVic guy was talking a lot of shit on twitter and even talking shit about Nick (the lawyer). So Nick invited to one of his streams and like I said it wasn't pretty. The guy came off as rude and disrespectful, trying to question the integrity of the lawyer (which is a straight NO in my book) and got verbally destroyed. Nick was explaining shit that him a lawyer would know and the guy was purposely not listening and coming off as smug and thought he won the argument. In the video he says he want's to help Vic but that is completely different from his twitter where he is relishing the fact Vic's career is getting destroyed.
So it's two guys acting like jerks to each other, then? That doesn't sound terribly fun...
Not really. Nick tried to be respectful and have a debate but the dude was just being a total ass
IStandWithVic supporters don't deserve respectful debate if I'm going to be honest. The entire thing is disrespectful to the victims.

"Deserved" or not, respectful debate is one of the only realistic ways things get done; agonizingly slow though it may be. Besides, respectfulness is something that should naturally flow from a person! It's just good character.

I think there is a time and place for that, that is true. In this case, I watched some of that video and the Nick guy is not someone I would ever care to talk respectfully to. He simply doesn't deserve it after all the stuff he's been doing as of late.

Respect at the end of the day is something you earn from others. There's common decency sure, but to reiterate I don't believe Nick deserves that.

So now the I Stand With Vic people think Chris Sabat is solely responsible for getting Vic uninvited to Kameha Con (ignoring the fact that he has been uninvited to most Conventions) so now a bunch of people are angry at Chris on Twitter

It’s still hilarious but also sad that so many people think there is some grand conspiracy just to get Vic.

It's really par for the course at this point. Literally everything FUNimation or anyone associated with FUNimation posts is just inundated with this nonstop stream of crap, it's obnoxious. I get people want to express their opinion, but it's becoming obnoxious how every single post it's the same thing. I guarantee when FUNi announces the 30th anniversary DBZ product it's just going to be covered in declarations of 'I'M NOT BUYING THIS BECAUSE VIC' and I'd bet money that if it's a proper release all of it will be taken as 'Well I guess there's no interest here!' and it's back to blurred 16:9 until the end of time.

It's hilarious how you think the vocal minority is indicative of the whole.

When you think about it, the idea that many of these people's accusations were a lie and a conspiracy is absurd and ridiculous because most of them happened at different times and places. What reason would they have to conspire against a random nobody who voice acts for a living?

We're not a jury. We accomplish nothing directly related to the situation by arguing over it on the internet.

Indirectly, some of us are here just to shout down ignorant, hurtful viewpoints espoused by others, because they cause broader damage - regardless of how "respectfully" they are stated.

No, that's not what I mean. I mean how apparently the people who actually believe that the people who control who're invited or disinvited from a con are the same as the people who don't. That the people who overreact to a situation are the same as the people who don't or the ones who don't react at all. Not everyone is the same & letting the vocal minority cloud your eyes of the group as a whole is a bad thing to do, since people & situations are often more complex than you may give them credit for. Also, calling a group of people "idiots" is just really disregarding reasons people may have, or just more nuanced opinions, or analyses of the situation.

Maybe you should pay more attention to the side you support if you think it is a vocal minority.

I'm really not supporting anyone here if my previous posts are any indication. I'm more on my own side. In any case, you completely missed what I meant. The people who're stupid enough to blame Sabat & co for Vic getting uninvited from cons are the vocal minority in this situation. Most people would realize Sabat has no control over that, but not the idiots screaming into the void on Twitter about it in this situation.

You underestimate how stupid Vic’s apologists are. They were trying to get a petition to get Monica replaced as Bulma with Tiffany Volmer for fuck sake.

That's, honestly, really dumb. Vollmer's not living in the same state & isn't even a regular voice actress anymore. I mean, I don't think Rial handled herself that well before issuing her full statement, but I don't think she's a bad person, or deserves to lose her job. She's also a much better Bulma, so there's no way that'd happen.

Well that's...unexpected. Didn't they already have him invited once before and then de-invited him?

I can't imagine this going over too well in the grand scheme of things. While I'm sure there will be a ton of fans that will be happy to see him, there's also going to be a ton who are going to be livid. Not to mention, uh...I'd imagine Marchi's probably not going to the con (she's one of the angels in Super now I believe, but she's never had a major DB role), but Monica probably is as she's Bulma, right? This could end very, very poorly.
