Season 5 Release

Post by Haseowolf » Fri Feb 29, 2008 2:46 pm

Probably a worthless question as I tried to find an answer in other topics, but came up short, but do we have a release date for Season Five at all or any information on FUNimation's plans for the release of subsequent seasons?

I just want to know as the between seasons 1-3, they were all 4 months or less apart, where season 4 was 5 months since the last and I would like to know how long I should expect to wait.

Thank you for any information, and sorry if this was an asinine question.

This is taking forever. I was hoping they would have stuck with the three month set-up they started with. I just hope they don't increase the price anymore. I paid $30 for the first three seasons and the fourth was $35 (I hate that i missed the Best Buy special to get Season 4 and the trunks/Bardock special for $45 together).

Stores such as HMV, and Sakura Media cranked up the price for these sets by 10-20 dollars. Fucking bullshit is what it is.

I really hope we don't have to wait until September for the Cell Games like we did for Frieza. That was ridiculous.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have to.

Wow, how ridiculous. The price on these things are now at 44 dollars + in most stores including BestBuy. :? I remember grabbing Season 1 when it first came out for 29 99..*sigh. Does anybody happen to know how much Wal Mart sells these bricks for? I can't seem to find it on the site. Thanks in advanced.

I bought seasons 1 through 3 at Walmart for $30 each. I got season 4 at Best Buy with the double feature for $45.

I got them at those prices as well. I think that jjgp1112's idea was correct. He said they might do the 2 for 45 deal with the remaining season sets and the upcoming movie releases.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Is that deal available throughout Canada as well?

Check the website. It should be. Best Buy is Best Buy lol But typically without that deal, I think it would've come out to $60

Unfortunately no! Wal-Mart in Canada has it priced at $45-$55 plus GST & PST. I don't buy the season sets, but I have been keeping up with current events.

It's sucks in Canada for Anime everything is overpriced. When I went to Grand Forks, North Dakota in November. I bought 2 Naruto boxsets at $30 a piece at Wal-Mart! Compared to our Canadian Wal-Mart which only have the singles at $25-$30, and when I finally find them at another store, I end up paying $50-$65 Canadian for them.

Fuck! What a pointless post I made. I just re-read the earlier posts and found out, it was about the Bardock deal, with the season sets at Best-Buy. Anyways we don't get the deal, here in Canada.

lol. I guess I'll proceed to scream out..

FUCK!!!

Why on earth did they crank up the price over here?! T_T HMV always overprices their anime titles, but when I picked up season 1 it was 29 99 (surprisingly) WTF HAPPENED! *gets dizzy.

My friend suggested that what their probably doing with the release is the same 3 release pattern each year. Think about it - Season 1 came out February last year, and Season 4 came out February this year. Sean 5 is coming out in May this year, and Season 2 came out May last year. So we might have to wait for Season 6 to come out in September, and then the pattern will start over with Season 7 coming out next February. So these sets will probably be finished by September 2009. :?
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I also saw the Best buy sale for $45. Unfortunately by the time I got the money, the sale had ended the day before. I got Season for at Wal-mart for $35 and the TV Speacials for $20 ($23 at Wal-mart) at Best But. I also got the Dragon Ball movies for $13 ($20 at Best Buy) at Wal-mart and will be getting the Broli set at Best Buy for $20.

I went to check out Circuit City and Target for price matching and found that CC doesn't have any anime and Target discontinued their Dragonball videos.

I got pretty lucky with the Best Buy deal. My dad stopped at Best Buy to pick it up for me while he was out, and though the both for $45 deal had technically ended the day before, he still got them to give it to him for that price on the grounds that the offer was still listed on their website. :)

I currently own over 100 episodes of Dragonball Z and the two TV specials. A year ago I could not say this. And it's all in sequence.
