I hate it when they do a million flashbacks featuring the same thing. Granted, this was only really prevalent in the Frieza saga, but annoying nonetheless.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

In the twenty-second tournament, there are ... a lot of flashbacks to TaoPaipai getting blown up and the filler "Tenshinhan attacks Goku" scene.
(I think the sound effects on the explosion changed in a couple of those flashbacks. XD).

And... I got really tired of Vegeta and Goku's rivalry by the time Vegeta gave his "Kakkarot is better" speech.

(And... really... all of this leads me to think of fanfics where Vegeta gets stereotyped to death. *totally guilty of said crappiness*)

The Freeza flashbacks were annoying. Sometimes they'd do flashbacks for something that happened 10 minutes ago. And then, after Goku went SSJ, they showed the flashback of Krillin getting killed and Goku transforming a kagillion times. It was redundancy at its worst.

Then again, if you wanted to do an entire Goku vs Freeza AMV, you'd only have to buy like, two DVDs!

There two things I dislike about Dragonball: every new villain and / or powerup of any sort is always about suddenly getting a lot of energy and a lot of interesting concepts lack any depth.

As previously stated, the fights in Dragonball always seem to revolve around who has the most energy. He who is the strongest wins, period. There's some instances where there's more involved, but it does seem to be the bottom line of it. By the time of the Buu saga, there've been too many powerups on both sides to still be plausible. SSj 3, fusion, Gohan's powerup, Buu's transformations - it's all good, though - just seem to come from thin air and it always involves the subject to become much more powerful (that's the strongest energy I've ever felt! ).
It would be nice if the next villain or powerup wasn't all about power. It's not that inconceivable to say that Freeza's final form, for instance, wasn't that much more powerful, but just that his technique increases a thousandfold. That way, you can have beings WITHOUT asburb powerlevels still having the upper hand on someone less skilled than them. I remember a dub line that said that "nothing can describe how gracefully, terrifyingly, etc, the Grand Kai fights". I always thought that this meant that although he had a relatively small powerlevel, he could still kick major butt (if only he'd kept up his training, of course ;) )
This aspect is what I miss the most in Dragonball.

Secondly, I feel like the world around Dragonball has the potential to be as inspiring and deep as the Lord of the Rings. This might seem like an outrageous claim to adepts of Tolkien's works - and though I will admit that Dragonball is nowhere near LotR in terms of depth, I do think it could've been if all its concepts were carefully worked out as meticulously as Mr. Tolkien has accomplished.
Just imagine the worlds and culture of, for instance, the Nameks, the Kaioshin, Freeza's empire... all these concepts hold so much potential that I'm of the opinion that Dragonball as it exists today is like a framework for a much grander design. Whereas LotR had mystical and magical themes, Dragonball has mystical themes, as well as themes on intergalactic civilization, alien worlds and cultures, and the existence of life-force used in martial arts. Compare that to the way the cultures and worlds of LotR and you'll see what I see in Dragonball.

Hmmm, after reading what I just wrote, I'd rather say that this is what I love the most about Dragonball, instead of what I dislike about it :D
It's all GOOD

Don't forget it also doesn't matter if you don't have the speed. Martial arts aren't all about technique.

... As I found out yesterday when I traded in my mace for a sword I could use with one hand. ... Against the guy using my other mace. :(

But still... Strategy likes to be fun? Like at Baba's tournament, or when Yajirobe cut off Vegeta's tail. And... umm...
... Yeah.

I also hate when enemies have the ability to regenerate. That is what basically pissed me off during the Buu arc. I'd seen enough regeneration from Cell by then.

I don't really see how that conflicts with the special. I mean, I just figured it would be from a different day that wasn't shown in the special.
It showed the day that Gohan died. In Trunks' flashback, Gohan and Trunks were in hiding and Trunks didn't know what to do. So Gohan just grinned, thinking about what Goku would do, and told Trunks to stay inside. Then he came out and fought the Androids until he was killed. In the TV special, he knocks Trunks out and goes to fight the Androids by himself until he's killed. That's a pretty big difference. For one, Trunks isn't supposed to know what happened.

I couldn't agree more, Cell actually had a backstory and a reason for regeneration, it was one of his defining traits as a villain.

Where as Boo just could.

'Cause he's magic. :|

Well, that anime-flashback was propably made before Trunks's backstory was shown in the manga then.

And as for what I dislike about Dragonball: it SERIOUSLY should have ended with Goku defeating Freeza. The Cell-arc was cool, but the Buu-arc was really stupid, for reasons a lot of people have already pointed out. Not to mention, having EVERY SINGLE VILLAIN being called "The strongest in the universe" got a bit old after a while.

The thing in the DB series that pissed me off the most is the fact that B ulma all of a sudden went to Vegeta and dumped Yamcha, after not showing any sings of liking him (though filler scenes in the anime explain it)

and the fact that, the earth humans ended up as jusr objmects to be saved by the time DBZ reached it's middle point.

and the Gohan becomes a plain kid thing.

Well it would have been his series, but the fans wanted Goku.

The Son Kid's Storyline:
Chichi got pregnant, had a baby then when it was eleven, she got pregnant again and had another baby.

They grew up Chichi looked after them, they met Valese (or random woman) and Videl and had their own kids . period. 8)

That was what the fans wanted for the kids, they wanted Goku back.

If Toriyama got his own way Gohan would have defeated Buu, but the fans like Goku more than any seed he places inside of Chichi.

It's sad but it's true.

It's also sad that in the aniome, Yamcha was a punching bag for the women by the time that the Buu saga appeared. :(

You know what I think I do have something that pisses me off, well annoys me. I don't like how Dragonball went from an adventure series to "Mai KI iz STronGer Than ur's". Don't get me wrong the Z series was good it was just that it went on in a way that completely disregarded the reason why Toriyama created Dragonball in the first place. I know that he did not intend Dragonball to be Goku fighting enemy A, B, and C and about saving the world after Piccolo Daimao.

Mostly, I just think that the series lost too much of it's focus as time went on. Does that mean I don't like the later parts? No, it's just that things became too redundant.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

As many have pointed out before, I was pretty annoyed at how everyone was rendered to be complete retards in the Buu saga. He wasn't even hat tough to beat, but because of constant fuck-ups, they couldn't. I mean, Goku could've killed Fat Buu right then and there and ended the whole thing, but he wanted to give Goten and Trunks a chance. Gotenks could've killed Buu, but Goten and Trunks are retards. Gohan would've beaten Buu in an instant, but was more interested in calling him a retard and doing nothing to deny that he himself was the retard. Don't get me started on Gohan not being able to catch the Potara earring. All Vegetto had to do was kill Buu and wish Goten, Trunks, Gohan, and Piccolo back since Piccolo technically wasn't the same guy who got killed in the Saiyan saga. Then, Goku could've killed Kid Buu, but he wanted to let Vegeta get his fight too.

Well... let's not forget the TaiChi concepts of fighting--don't meet an attack head-on, when riding it and using it to take the advantage is safer for everyone involved! Which is pretty much the opposite of fighting in DBZ, where it's just Force Vs Force. Granted, there are a lot of cases where a more submisive style of fighting (o.o at my wordchoice) wouldn't work (i.e, people blowing up planets), but... it'd have been interesting...

Except that doesn't work in Dragonball. When someone is stronger than you by enough in DB you can't do anything to them, no matter how you fight. This was established very early in the series when Goku was kicking nearly everyone's asses without any real effort involved.

Well, each of them was the strongest at that point.
