Why aren't any of the Saiyans' mothers shown in the series?
I've been a DBZ fan since I was born and I've always wondered. Where are Goku & Vegeta's moms'? Is there a reason why mr.Toriyama didn't elaborate on that? Does anyone know?

I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.
Well, in the manga, their fathers also weren't in it (except Bardock for two panels).
To put it plainly, the world of the Saiyans is a thing of the past in Dragonball. Nothing remains of it, except the four survivors, so Goku and Vegeta's parents weren't a part of Dragonball. The anime elaborated a bit further on this past, so that's why you see Bardock and Vegeta Sr.
By the way.

It's all GOOD
Vegeta's dad isn't shown either, and Goku's dad only gets two panels. *shrug*
If I were to guess, Saiyans don't form pair-bonds.
E: beaten on the first point.
Also,
On that track, wouldn't there be some serious sagging in 10x Earth gravity?

Why does the armor not cover the tits. Are tits invincible?

Nah, Mrs Vegeta probably whips butt with them : P hence the lack of armor...
Anyway, I do think that Saiyans are too occupied with fighting to concern themselves with love or family ties. I don't think it was a major part of their life. Just something they had to do to ensure survival of the race...
Bardock: "Alright, let's get it over with... when can I go fighting again?"
Mrs. Bardock: "Hey, you're not the one who has to sit out another 9 months!"

I think that's Kabu. I know I've seen that on DragonballArena before, at least. So if you're up to digging through all of their art....SaiyaMel wrote:That pic looks fanmade...who did it?
As for the parents question, Bulma's the only one to get any in the series as far as the manga goes (aside from the kids whos parents were around before them). Neither of Goku's are seen until Bardock's created for the special. Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Chaotzu's parents aren't even refrenced, far as I can remember.
There's only vague family connections for the most part. The Crane Hermit and Tao being brothers, Roshi and Baba being brother and sister, and Gohan being Goku's Grandpa (adoptive though it was) but never any solid connections outside of Bulma's family. Though Chi-Chi and Videl managed father's and mentioned mothers.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

Absolutely not. Freeza was only around for 7 years before Goku's birth. Not enough time to effect change to an entire culture. The Saiya-jins were a war race from the get-go, long before Freeza came along.SaiyaMel wrote:They were probably family oriented before the time of Freeza's occupation. IMO anyway...

I stand corrected... though before (and to a lesser extent, after)they got involved in the Planet trade - perhaps there were like alternating shifts in which other clan members looked after their young (basic care like breast feeding newborns) while parents went to battle,, and vise versa.
Just Saiyan...

I always thought Goku's mother would have been that Fasha from the Bardock movie. I know there wasn't much to base it on. But I go on this.
- She was the only female on his crew
- Everyone who wasn't in his crew was shown to look down their noise at Bardock's crew so unless young Kakarrot was conceived during some Saiyan style pity sex it eliminates the rest.
- She was the one who kept telling him to go see his son, Like she had personal involvement in it.
But that is just a little theory of mine

I don't think the fact that she was the only female member of Bardock's crew is good enough proof. That's like saying the cake you baked that went missing was taken by your uncle because he's the only fat member of your family.SSJmole wrote:I always thought Goku's mother would have been that Fasha from the Bardock movie. The only ones that looked down their noses at Bardock's crew where Freeza and his lot, who aren't even Saiyajins. And they looked down on the entire race as a whole. I don't know where you got the idea that other Saiyajins regarded them that way, but if it's from that scene in the bar where Bardock tried to warn them all, they laughed at him because they thought what he was saying was crazy, nothing more than that.
Just because Seripa kept telling him to go see his son(and really it was only one short scene, it's not like she kept telling him all through the special), doesn't equal proof either. A teammate, friend, co-worker *can* make statements like that too you know. Plus don't you think she would have at least once said, "our son" when she made those remarks? Pretty odd she didn't in my mind if they're both the parents.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."
