Also not possible. These things often won't let you play the game until you've installed the included update first.
I'm not sure how it works for the Wii, but it was a pain in the ass when my brand-new PSP's battery didn't come charged enough for the update to install, thus preventing me from playing the game I got with it until that night.

But to be able to skip updates, you'd have to be "playing" the disc, it can't do anything until you start the game. If Nintendo finds a way to stop it from starting, the disc will be useless.
