Live Action Movie causing new DB series

Post by Ultimate DBZ » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:22 pm

Now I don't know about classic MANGA or ANIME, because they have not been legally showing ANIME and MANGA untill the late 1999's and 200's. But usually in all the american comic books like Batman and Hellboy, when the comic book and cartoon series is done, after they end up making a live-movie (if they make a live movie) of it, they alwayes make a new series re-made from the originalstory arcs. For example, Batman: The New Animated Series, Hellboy - The new Animated movies that has a varity of names. Even the classic ANIME Astro Boy, even though there was no live movie, it was still very popular so they ended up making a re-make in the 90's. Do you think maybe years later, they'll end up re-making the story in a new series?

I dunno...

The US making a Dragonball series? Well, if they make it, it will be like the Movie, I guess. :?
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

Isn't there going to be a new CG Astro Boy movie in a few years?

Well from the little I've seen of both the new Transformers movie, the original series and the new series, it looks like each one is completely different with the only thing they each have in common are the main characters.

While I'd love for a new series to come about because of the live action movie, I'd really hate for it to be solely based on the movie, which doesn't exactly sound like it'll be taking a whole lot of things from the original story. I might settle for a completely new series with new stories not related to the movie or the original series, though.

Anything that could end up with me suddenly finding new DB apparel at malls again is fine by me.

God, I really hope not. It seems that as of late most of these new cartoon remakes have been less than good.

For example: The latest TV adaptation of Transformers (actually the last few now that I think about it), THE Batman, The Spectacular Spider-man, That new Fantastic Four show, The list goes on...

To be frank, I am not excited for the Live action movie at all. I have very low expectations for it.

A new American made series, just won't be good...
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

Yeap. I don't keep up with the info though, so it might be live action.

Although I didn't like it at first, I don't think THE Batman is that bad, but the older cartoon was better. (Maybe it's just my inner-Batman-fangirl talking though.)

Which was the Spectacular Spider-man? Was that the computer animated one? I never liked that one, I thought it was gross. (I loved the earlier animation though.) I hope that they don't make a DB series out of that sort of computer animation. Something about that sort of animation just bothers me. ><;
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

I'd rather not have them make a new db series here in the US.

"Saban Moon", anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7Hge38AkFg

That's what I'm most afraid of. DBZ just wont be itself without the animation. I know I sound like a closed-minded person but damn, I just wont get the same feel with that "new American cartoon" look given to an anime that was known for it having (for the most part) wonderful, fluid animation for its time.

That'll be my only gripe. I know a lot of us want a new DB series but. . .

. . .this. . .

. . .ugh. . .

I don't even like Sailor Moon...

But I think viewing that may have, in fact, completely destroyed my well-being and happiness for the rest of my life.

Or at least until I play Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

I doubt Toriyama would approve of it, so I don't think there ever will be anymore animated Dragonball.

Fun fact: That's not "Saban". It's some other random company. It being Saban is some rabid wildspread rumour.

And my god, I forgot just how horrible that is.

Toei wouldn't allow it.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

How do you know Toei wouldn't? They've done plenty of stupid business decisions before. Like for instance actually thinking they knew enough about the NA market to start their own DVD distributing company here in which their DVDs were practically on the quality level of Hong Kong bootlegs. And then there's the fact that they won't release Sailor Stars over here because they're so terrified of jeopardizing how they've marketed the anime's merchandise to young children in other countries. Trust me, they're plenty stupid.

The whole fiasco with the last bit of Sailor Moon not being released over here really is a frickin' shame.
