I haven't called for the site to be shut down. I haven't said we should all go out on a hunt for the person who made the site. I haven't called Capitol Hill in a desperate attempt to convince them that clearly animated violence is inspiring death threats.Jerseymilk wrote:Rachel pretty much summed up my thoughts but I'll just calrify what I meant in my post to you. I never said you had to find it funny, or like it at all. Just that yours and a few other people's reactions to that site have been like you found a promo page for Al-Quaeda. It's not *that* big a deal is all I've been trying to say.
I merely wrote a quick response about what I thought of the site (something along the lines of 'what the hell?') in the thread I found it on, which included similar opinions.
Yes, clearly I'm behaving in a manner similar to the way I'd react to terrorist threats.
In fact, I probably wouldn't have said a thing if it hadn't been Meri. I like Meri, she sounds like a really cool person.
Maybe if the method of dispatching Meri were more whimsical, I'd get the joke. Like, "Load up all the fans and this Meri character into a rocket and launch them all into the sun, I say!"
Just replying to all the people saying I'm over reacting makes it seem like I care a whole lot more than I really do, so I'll try to make this my last post in this thread.
