Who knew people actually wanted them..
I currently own over 100 episodes of Dragonball Z and the two TV specials. A year ago I could not say this. And it's all in sequence.
I have to say, you took the words right out of my mouth!

"Kenshi is sitting down right now drawing his mutated spaghetti monsters thinking he's the shit..."--Neptune Kai
"90% of you here don't even know what you're talking about (there are a few that do). But the things you say about these releases are nonsense and just plain dumb. Like you Metalwario64"--

Sorry, but I have to say the same. When I was younger and when I didn't have a job way back in 2001, one of my goals was to own every DBZ episode on DVD so I could actually watch every one in Japanese subbed without watching shitty fansub VHS tapes.
Thanks to these Season Sets, I have all these episodes and specials, and soon the rest plus the movies. I know what problems these sets have, and I'm fine with those drawbacks.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but in a way, it's a little sad that we have to accept the drawbacks just to own the series consistently.

I know, but its the story of Dragonball in America. Despite it being a number 1 seller, its fans have to accept number 25 seller quality.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Well, I have all the singles. I even have the old ocean sets, but I wanted seasons 1 and 2 uncut. Luckily, I managed to get both of those season sets cheaper on ebay. It still sucks having to mix and match just to get them all uncut though.

That's basically true, but there a few that aren't available any more. For example, the last disc of the Cell Games set is incredibly hard to find for a reasonable price. They have them used on Amazon, but the cheapest one is around $60. I've been trying to track down a reasonably priced copy for months.

I guess I'm lucky, then. I -am- missing one of the Cell Game DVD's, but all it is, is Gohan dodging Cell and #16 getting blowed up..

Holy crap. Seriously? I just checked it out on amazon and you're right. There's one for $30 now, but wow. I'm glad I got my copy when it first came out.

Regarding the release, we've seen that FUNi is getting better with the remastering process as I've seen in Trunks/Bardock tin case, but do you think that this will be carried over to the rest of the season sets?
I mean, yeah I see the lines disappearing in season four as that was after I was aware of that problem, but I didn't see any of that in the double feature, so I'm just hoping that happens with subsequent sets and the new movie double features.

*cough* Ebay *cough*
I've picked up two of the three Cell games discs I need, but luckily the ones I were missing are pretty common (Begin, A moments peace and Ultimatum)

Yeah but the singles were never finished so it's not exactly a reasonable alternative.

I find only having to own two season sets (and all of the singles) to have the entire series to be much more reasonable, sure it isn't perfect, but I'd rather have the majority of the show in it's original aspect ratio, than none of it.

You don't have to accept any of it.
Plus, it isn't sad at all. I'm happy with my sets. My evil season sets.

At least this one's going to have less filler than Season 4. There's probably more filler on that season to episodes you need.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

You have to if you want to own the uncut series legally.

I honestly dont want the original BGM with the english cast bad enough to have to watch the series cropped.
Other than that, I dont really see why I would buy a season set.

I don't miss the two inches snipped away.

Yeah, most people don't, I wasn't exactly happy with the cropping, but I thought I could live with it, then the dissappearing lines and colours in Season 2 tipped me over.
I don't think there's anything wrong with buying the season sets, they just aren't for me, which is why I've been importing the US singles (I've bought all the bilingual Australian releases) so I can own the show the way I want.
