Ultra Instinct never has to be surpassed because Goku is stronger after he drops out and then the next transformation is even stronger.sunsetshimmer wrote:A fact it is power boost is dumb, it shouldn't be. Wasn't it even said that Jiren's punches do not harm Goku because he was evading weak spots? Wouldn't it be the same with attacking? That's what SHOULD happen at least. But of course they had to ruin a promising idea and basically turned UI into another power boost that sooner or later will still somehow turn out to be too slow. It's matter of time.p-hyvo wrote:I heard of this, lol. That's stupid.ruler9871 wrote:The idea that Ultra Instinct isn't a power boost.
If that was just base goku, how could he harm jiren? His punches would be pokes to him
They should make it that Goku already has power to beat Jiren but simply can't hit him and UI let him evade attacks and actually touch Jiren and harm his weak spots. hat would be much more interesting that what it turned out to be - basically already generic thing about achieving new form to beat opponent that is too strong.

The idea that Frost in the U6 arc is only as strong as Namek arc Freeza.

The idea that Goku & Vegeta didn't get any stronger in the ToP outside of new forms.

Yamcha is Gohan's Father.
The main evidence is that "Goten and Goku look so similar, while Gohan looks a little bit like Yamcha!", which is so dumb that I don't even need to argue why it isn't the case.
They try to say that the reason Gohan can go Super Saiyan (since now he's 100% Human) is that Chi-Chi INJECTED GOHAN WITH GOKU'S DNA.

- Broly is Future Trunks' father
- Goku & Vegeta's bases in Super are the same as they were in the Buu saga
- Transformations are tiers of power
- Goku was holding back against Cell
- Freeza killed Goku on Namek, who was then wished back by Shenron.

Re: What is the dumbest DB fan theory you have ever heard?
To be fair, if Goku was capable of unleashing all of his power in a single kamikaze explosion similar to Vegeta in the Buu arc, there might be an argument to this claim. I could only see him choosing to do something like that if their backs were to the wall and somehow plan A with Gohan wasn't panning out the way it should. Oh, and Cell obviously can't be in the midst of trying to detonate himself in order to destroy the planet.
Some seemingly ridiculous theories...
Well Tao Pai Pai being made into a cyborg courtesy of Dr Gero might seem out there to some because of the lack of information as to how he became one. We hear nothing of his whereabouts after the RRA arc until the 23rd tournament. I think he mentions that he spent all of his savings to be made into a cyborg. Would Gero have been interested in money at that point, though? Since the RRA's destruction, he's been committed to getting his revenge against Goku and monitoring the young Saiyan in the process so he can prepare for their eventual showdown. I don't believe money would really enter into the equation unless the financials of acquiring all the scientific equipment and travelling to kidnap potential candidates for his program were brought up.

The Moon is closer to the Earth in DB than it is in real life.

that's not a theory. that's a plain headcanon. even toriyama went out and stated that the moon is at least 380 thousand Kilometer from earthMelee_Sovereign wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 12:07 pm The Moon is closer to the Earth in DB than it is in real life.

Unless an artist is willing to make geometry - based angular distance calculatons every time they draw a panel, they're not going to always depict the moon at the right size and distance. I've seen comics and manga that take place on modern Earth where the moon is drawn to look so big it fills up the entire sky. It's just artistic license.Shintoki wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 5:45 pmthat's not a theory. that's a plain headcanon. even toriyama went out and stated that the moon is at least 380 thousand Kilometer from earthMelee_Sovereign wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 12:07 pm The Moon is closer to the Earth in DB than it is in real life.![]()

Re: What is the dumbest DB fan theory you have ever heard?
It might be headcanon if Toriyama & Toei haven't consistently drawn the moon as being unusually close to the Earth. Goku managed to reach the moon with the Nyoibo and come back in a single afternoon while it takes spacecraft a few days just to get to the moon. Either the Nyoibo was moving significantly faster than supersonic shuttle engines or the moon actually is closer to Earth, the latter being more likely since we've never seen the Nyoibo move at such crazy speed but we have seen the moon be only another Earth's distance away when observed from Freeza's ship both in the manga & anime.Shintoki wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 5:45 pmthat's not a theory. that's a plain headcanon. even toriyama went out and stated that the moon is at least 380 thousand Kilometer from earthMelee_Sovereign wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 12:07 pm The Moon is closer to the Earth in DB than it is in real life.![]()

-what toei does is up for toei. toriyama =/= toei.
-how is nyoibo extending to the moon, in screen, while being acknowledged by the author, a ''never seen''. more like ''never seen again'', which doesn't mater
if you think the ''moon'' being too big for that distance, then that's what it is. in DB: magical pole > spacecrafts. nothing hard to get.

this should be a common sense when consuming visual stories. the artwork is not a photographical image of the actual thing, it is depicted from.Polyphase Avatron wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 6:44 pmUnless an artist is willing to make geometry - based angular distance calculatons every time they draw a panel, they're not going to always depict the moon at the right size and distance. And yet he didn't draw the moon as being anywhere close to the real distance from the Earth on more than one occasion after he stated that he knew what it was. Seems to me he forgot about it like he forgot about a lot of things.Shintoki wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 8:26 pm-there is no ''might be'' about it when the author made it clear as crystal that the distance between the earth and the moon is 380,000 KM. at the least.

Both Toriyama & Tori messed up, you can't just let Toriyama slide but allow Toei to be wrong.
The Nyoibo performed this feat one time & one time only and didn't even perform something remotely comparable throughout the series, that's something worth noting.
The Nyoibo can't be faster than spacecraft if we have contradictory depictions of the moon's distance in DB.

Every time I hear about "Goten Black", it makes me want to see fanart of the Virgin Goten Black and the Chad Broly-Magetta. Those are the two best dumb early DBS theories, and the memes fit so well.

I literally never see the Moon have the right angular size in any fictional media. It ALWAYS looks bigger in just about every fictional setting I can think of. Same with the Sun. Why is Akira Toriyama even being singled out here?theherodjl wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 8:47 pm

Name 1, no... name 10 fictional settings that depicts the Moon with the right angular size.

Theory or headcanon, it's dumb as shit. I want to rip my own head off from the stupidity of it whenever people say this. Toriyama shouldn't even have to outright say it.Shintoki wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 5:45 pmthat's not a theory. that's a plain headcanon. even toriyama went out and stated that the moon is at least 380 thousand Kilometer from earthMelee_Sovereign wrote: Mon May 20, 2019 12:07 pm The Moon is closer to the Earth in DB than it is in real life.![]()
What's funny about that is even a photograph can make the Moon look bigger if it's zoomed in. Because a zoomed in photo will scale everything in the image evenly.
this should be a common sense when consuming visual stories. the artwork is not a photographical image of the actual thing, it is depicted from.
You might say "well duh, it's zoomed in", but the important thing to note is, the photograph can still have the surroundings in the image, such as a cityscape, trees, people etc... with the Moon bigger-looking than how you would see it with your own eyes.
