DragonBall Live Action Movie Action Figures...

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Wed Mar 12, 2008 8:49 pm

"Eriko updated her blog and talked about getting face and body scans for a Mai action figure. I guess another positive thing about the delay is that there will be more time to create some really cool action figures by next April!"

So... yea. I guess that confirms that. :?

Yeah...I'm, not looking forward to the Chatwin-Goku figures. >_>

With everyone else, it doesn't really bother me too much. Let 'um make what they want.

I'm reserving judgment until I see them, but...

So long as they're decently-produced, I'm so going to buy ALL of 'em. :)

I blame you for my lack of sleep last night, Tanooki Kuribo.

Quick, someone change the title to "OverReaction-Fest 2008."

I'm just excited to see the commercials for these things.

I doubt they're going for high-quality figures. Its more likely that a big company like Hasbro or Mattel will handle these for mass-market appeal.

Oh, I don't mean to sound so negative about the products. I'm just really not looking forward to the film. :D

Well all I'll say is, the idea of a Chatwin Goku disturbs me. >>

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

If I hadn't seen this one coming, I would probably have more feelings towards the news. When it's announced that there will be a video game, then I'll be worried...

In any case, thanks for sharing this.

So, this is how optimism dies...to cold silence and shock from the real fans.

I'm not looking forward to these actions figures either. But I'm going to try and be mature and not bitch and moan about it. I think its just the childishness in me that makes me feel like Chatwin is going to try and take all the credit away from the original Goku we know, and keep it all for himself. Sorry, but I can't help but feel that way. lol

To be fair, I don't really care for other DBZ toys released in America either. But those Bandai figures from Japan are a different story.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
