The dub says "ten years," and even before GT was dubbed, many people have claimed it was also in the original Japanese dialogue, but no one seems to be able to point out WHERE it was stated. I've certainly never heard it in what I've seen of GT.

Well this makes everyone seem younger now. I calculated it. Goku was born in age 737 and Pan was born in 779. So subtract all of that and add 5 years and Goku was 47 when GT started.

The training was only about 7 and a half months. There's nothing to indicate that Goku wasn't already 12 when he met Bulma. In fact, the dialogue suggests he was when he says he thought 12 came after 13.

Ah, this sentence doesn't appear in the french translation of the manga

Um... Gohan wasn't even a twinkle in Chi-Chi's eye yet when Pilaf first showed up, so I'll assume you mean in GT. In which case, Pan was 9.

Looking over the ages thing again I have to ask where...

Beginning of Dragon Ball
Grandpa Gohan: 100 Years Old (91 years old when he died)
Mr. Satan: 20 Years Old

...those two came from.

I ask because 1) Gohan was 91 when DB started (born in 658, DB starts in 749), 2) I don't think it's ever said how long Goku's been on his own (does it?), and 3) Hercule's age is never given, far as I know, but I doubt he's that much older than Goku and Vegeta. Probably the same age as Vegeta or a little younger.

All right. Thanks. Here's why it's weird that Pan is 9. Because in the second episode of GT, she was upset about her date skipping out on her. 9 year old dating. She's bigger than 12 year old Goku. And... well yeah.

She's also smaller than 10 year old Gohan. And 12 year old Goku is as tall as 7 year old Goten. So heights don't really matter. As for the dating thing, meh. I've known 9 year olds with boyfriends/girlfriends before. (Hell, I was hit on by a 6 year old when I was younger (I was like, 8, I think?) so it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for her to have a date despite her age~)

I have a question in regards to that timeline though.

Who is Annin (Annin begins her service of protecting the Furnace of Eight Divinations on the border between the real world and the "Other World".)?

Is Jadoushin's name ever given in the dub?

What are Toninjinka's and Dr. Raichi's translated names?

The rest I pretty much got. I'm just wondering about the dub names, since I'm going to convert this timeline into more of a dub version (for personal purposes lol). Thanks for the facts and sorry about any mistakes I had. Great timeline, despite all the spelling mistakes.

Annin is the lady from the filler at the end of DB. The one that watches over that furnace and that Grandpa Gohan apparently works for (and has a thing for XD).

I think she's just refered to as Princess Snake in the dub, without a name.

Toninjinka is Boss Rabbit. And Raichi's never had a dub name since the NES game/game guide/Playdia game/whatever has never been dubbed.

Thanks a lot. So Raichi is from the "Plan to Destroy the Saiyans" game? Hm. I knew that Toninjinka sounded familiar. I used to have a "name translation" sheet that I got from online. I don't have it anymore. Annin is the proper spelling in the dub as well?

At the beginning of DB, Goku says that he's 12 years old; about a year later, he announces that he's was actually 14 years old when Bulma met him (and is now 15 years old), but that he just didn't know how to count properly before meeting Master Roshi. After the tournament, he then, at age 15, goes to train with Kami for 3 years.

When he returns to fight Ma Junior (Piccolo) after the 3 years of training, he is 18 years old. He defeats Piccolo and marries Chi-Chi at age 18, as well. And that's the end of DB. At the begging of DBZ, he's 23 ('cause the narration states that "5 years have passed").

I would go on 'til the end of the series . . . but I guess I should spare you all since I think others have already figured it out. XD

I think you should reread those books once more, since you missed the entire Red Ribbon and 22nd Budokai arcs.

Okay, here's what's actually stated.
Goku says he's 14 at the beginnin of the series. Bulma says that's only two years younger than her (making her 16, for those of you who aren't too good at math). At the Budokai, Goku says he's 12. Kuririn says he though Goku was 14, and Goku answers that he just didn't know which number came after 11.
During the Red Ribbon arc, Bulma again gives her age as 16.

So yes, those two characters' ages were both the same for the two first Dragonball hunts.

Uh... I think you need to do some re-reading.

He tells Bulma when she first meets him that he's 14. Then, at the 21st Budokai (which is only 8 months later) he announces that he didn't know how to count properly before and got it wrong, he's actually 12. After the tournament he then goes on to fight the RRA, while still 12. Then shows up at the 22nd at age 15, which is where you picked up at.

Oooh, dang, you're right. I just checked my volumes again and he does indeed say he's 14 when he first meets Bulma. So he was actually 12 when he met her, then? I'm sorry, guess I got the two ages switched around. XD

Wow, though . . . this means that Goku was even younger than I thought when he got married. Wouldn't that put him and Chi-Chi at age 15 by the end of Dragonball? And they wouldn't even have been legal adults by the time Gohan was born about a year later. WTF. o_O; Please tell me I'm just missing some info here again. . . . Grah, too young for babies! XD
