Realization About Gero

Post by Hulk10 » Tue Oct 01, 2019 5:45 pm

I just realized that just because you know someone's fighting style doesn't necessarily guarantee victory. I doubt that before Gero began his vendetta against Goku he had probably never been in a real fight in his life.

My point being in a fight anything can happen, just because you know a person's moves, doesn't mean you can defeat them.

Pretty much. DBS also had this happen, when Goku found out Hit's fighting style but still couldn't defeat him.

To be fair, as a scientist in the Red Ribbon Army, he probably did do some research into the lunges, twists, pivots, and pulls of coded fighting in order to give his android/cyborg creations some hand-to-hand capabilities beyond just grabbing someone and squeezing them to death (this program existed before vendetta against Goku). At the very least, he might have witnessed some hand-to-hand training amongst the soldiers or with noteworthy faces like Silver and Blue who may have worked out or even sparred at the headquarters.

That may be true but its no substitute for actually learning to fight. His Androids were still rookies. 17 and 18 won mainly because they were powerful. Vegeta easily squashed 19 because he figured out an effective strategy and he also watched the Android fight so he was able to work out an effective counterattack and he was able to do that due to his experience as a fighter.
