Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake
I just wonder what the video quality of the episodes on these is like, if it's a bootleg i can imagine them looking like crap and compressed to hell compared to FUNi's official versions of the Blue Bricks. Now that said, the packaging is indeed nice looking for something that isn't legit.
Funny how they make these things look so close to the original, authentic versions.
Compare that with bootleg DVD's of the series from over a decade ago that had some of the most terrible and amateurish cover artwork i had ever seen

DB collection related goals as of now:
1.) Find decent priced copy of Dragon Box Z Vol. 4 (Done)
2.) Collect rest of manga
3.) Get rest of Daizenshuu (2-7)

I am curious if the video footage was taken from the Dragon Box. That wouldn't be too bad.bernhard90 wrote: Thu Apr 25, 2019 6:56 am Oops! I forgot to post the screenshots I made from these fake blue bricks! ASAP. They are not on my PC so thats the reason it took a little longer![]()

In the unlikely event that's the case, someone's going to have to point me in the direction of these bootlegs!JohnnyCashKami wrote: Thu Apr 25, 2019 8:03 amI am curious if the video footage was taken from the Dragon Box. Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake
I'd be really surprised if that were indeed the case, but i'm not convinced until screenshots are posted to verify the quality of the transfers themselves whatever they happen to be.

This is currently on auction at eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Dragon-B ... 3727065800
Good looking bootleg but still a bootleg. Not gonna risk trying to buy this as the quality is probably badly compressed.

What does "DVD size" mean, exactly? I have a suspect copy of Berserk Remastered I'd like to confirm.JohnnyCashKami wrote: Wed Feb 13, 2019 3:51 pmThe DVD size and also worth checking if you see any compression (pixelated picture).bernhard90 wrote:And what should I see on my PC ?

DVD size can either mean DVD5 or DVD9.Lance Freeman wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:31 amWhat does "DVD size" mean, exactly? So if it's a dual-layer DVD, it's probably good?JohnnyCashKami wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:43 pmDVD size can either mean DVD5 or DVD9.Lance Freeman wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:31 amWhat does "DVD size" mean, exactly? Maybe. But bootleggers try to always use the cheapest options available.Lance Freeman wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 5:45 pmSo if it's a dual-layer DVD, it's probably good?JohnnyCashKami wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:43 pmDVD size can either mean DVD5 or DVD9.Lance Freeman wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:31 am

This really looks good. If wasn't for reading news and know information from internet, I would not call this as bootleg, because it really doesn't seems like it on the first view.JohnnyCashKami wrote: Sat Apr 27, 2019 9:17 am This is currently on auction at eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Dragon-B ... 3727065800

Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake
I erroneously made another topic dealing with bootleg DB Super Blu-rays. Did not realize this topic was here. In any case, I wanted to advise anyone purchasing the Super Part(s) BDs online to be cautious. There are counterfeits that look so close to the official product it's insane. This video I found better explains the differences between the Funi product and the bootlegs:

What's more is that some 3rd party Amazon sellers (who use Amazon's own shipping service) are selling these as official, when they're not. I see some of the season sets have run into this issue as well, but I think these look even more deceiving.

Re: Bootleg topic! Real vs fake
That looks just about like the Blue Bricks themselves, albeit a tiny bit more compressed compared to the real deals. I must say judging by those screenshots these certainly don't seem quite as bad as some of the cheaply made bootlegs of the series especially of DBZ that i've seen which cram a butt load of episodes per disc and over compress them to the max.
