I also disagree with the notion that Vegeta's character development from the Buu saga was thrown out the window. Vegeta is not obsessed with beating Goku any more. He just wants to get stronger. His rivalry with Goku is still there, but it's healthier. When Frieza offers him a place back at his army for finishing Goku off, he even acknowledges that Goku is basically his carrot on a stick, saying something to the effect of, "That's tempting. Once upon a time, I might have taken you up on that offer. But as much as I hate to admit it, I need this clown. He drives me to keep improving."
He knows Goku will always be one step ahead of him, but that doesn't matter. He'll always keep trying, chasing after his rival to greater heights.
Character development is not linear. Still, super's execution is garbage.

Come to think of it, Charging an attack in the open is very dumb.

You mean the ones they didn't try to poorly rehash from Z? Against Black he had a moment but the rest...absolutely garbage.

The artwork is better now that the artist isn't tracing and copy-pasting. Seems like they're good at close-up facial expressions but not wide shots.

Why is Goku being written like an idiot here? He knows about healing pods, and he knows that Kold has one more form, not that he needs it, because with a little more strategy he could have killed everyone in his third form, and Goku ain't gonna zenkai high enough to match Kold's third form, not from that giant bruise.
Of course, why is Kold being written like an idiot, he also knows this.

Kold can go final form right now and be healed.

He probably needs some time to transform, so he's going to need a distraction of some sort.

You would've thought Goku learned his lesson after letting Freeza go, but apparently not.

Yeah I mean he's gonna try and transform and it'll be a big group blast or a warp kamehameha through his ki shield.
I think the novel had some stupid convulted thing with some psychic battle as he can't control his final form.

They literally copied/pasted Goku's lines from the end of the Namek fight there. And it did Goku no good.

Would base Vegeta able to kill Cold with a final flash at this point?

Anticlimactic, out of place, and poorly written? It’s a DBM Special, alright.
I swear, they’re only getting worse.
