I had a fanfic idea in which Post-ToP Goku is somehow sent all the way back to his child body from the first chapter of DB. Supposing something like this actually happened in-universe, would Goku use his knowledge of everything right after the ToP to change everything for the better and save so much hassle? Or would he hide what he knew and attempt to guide events as closely as possible to how they happened?
Simply put, what would Goku do? Is he a savior or too much of a stubborn fighter to want to create an ideal future?

Implications Of Goku Knowing Everything From The Start?

Re: Implications Of Goku Knowing Everything From The Start?
This idea carries so many butterflies with itself that it's difficult to pinpoint every single individual alteration. We know that Goku would have a somewhat better grasp of proper etiquette around people. Everyone around him would already be known to him because of the deepened relationship Goku has shared with them in his past life. The tail he possesses he would likely do what he can to ensure that it doesn't imperil the people around him through his transforming.
Since the original timeline era is the most familiar and likely agreeable to Goku, he would probably try to keep events as best aligned as possible. Having said that, I think he would try to mitigate the suffering and loss endured by others and himself as much as possible. Such ripple effects might include things like visiting Bora and Upa before seeking out any more of the Dragon Balls. Originally, his intention was just to acquire the 4 star ball as it was a memento from his grandfather. Since Goku is already aware of the Red Ribbon Army's ambitions, though, I think he would likely do what he can to prevent all of them from falling into the hands of the RRA.
Imagine Goku having already trained with Karin before traversing Muscle Tower. The cat entity might hesitate in allowing Goku to accept the Choshinsui challenge so soon. No one outside of Tao Pai Pai and General Blue with his telekinesis poses a threat to Goku anyway. Such a fluid streamlining of events with the continual demise of RRA outposts one after the other would result in no casualties being suffered by anyone whom Goku cares about.
I could still see Goku seeking out Baba if only to reunite with his beloved grandfather once more. It would be the perfect opportunity for everyone to test their skills out. Baba's tournament likely pans out more or less the same. It's the intermediary time elapse and the 22nd tournament where things really start to diverge. Goku would already be privy to Piccolo Daimou's machinations so it seems quite plausible that he would have invested in the Choshinsui challenge before travelling to Papaya Island for the tournament.
Having thoroughly prepared himself, I can see Goku already harbouring his laid-back yet confident and alert demeanour from the 23rd. No one could stand up to him here, not even Tenshinhan. It would be quite the lesson in humility for everyone. Immediately afterwards, this is where things take a sombre note with Goku giving it his all in order to deter one of the earliest tragedies of his life. He either leaves with Krillin to acquire the Dragon Ball or goes by himself. Who knows? Goku may have already put the necessary steps into motion in order to thwart Daimou but ensure his son is born and no one is killed prior to the 22nd tournament. If that happens to be the case then the aftermath of the tournament is uneventful. Krillin, Chaozu, and Roshi survive but it comes at the cost of Tenshinhan not acquiring the knowledge of the Mafuba; not that he ever did anything with the ability, sadly.
If Goku is comprehending of at least what marriage entails thanks to the knowledge of his previous life then he'll seek out Chi-Chi sometime before reaching Papaya Island for the 23rd tournament and ensure that he keeps his promise to her. Who knows? You could have a completely unknown generic martial artist acting in Chi-Chi's stead for the event. No one is aware of who Daimou is as he would likely suffer an ignominious demise by a prepared Goku. They could eventually discover his son's identity but the exposition would have to come from either Goku or Roshi then. The young Saiyan is able to anticipate his final opponent throws at him and probably walks away without any fatal injuries.
Where Yajirobe fits into all of this is difficult to estimate. While he does play a significant role as the travelling distribution messenger for Karin, he and Goku were never really that close to each other. Does Goku have a desire to ensure Yajirobe maintains the path he was originally set out on or will he try to find an alternative for things like the battle against Vegeta in the Saiyan arc and all the various times they received sensu?
The above is more of a general summation of how I think events in the original Dragon Ball may have played out with a fully aware Goku endowed with the mindset of his latest self.

I think he would definitely return to life after Cell since he would now know about Goten and the earth was at peace for those 7 years anyway. He remembers the fusion dance, so he can still teach the boys fusion
