Can't believe I have to explain such a simple joke to someone who didn't catch it

Future Trunks said he has come to save Toriyama legacy, that 18 years from now he would create Super (implying that he came back to 1997 in the past) so yea killing Toriyama and destroying Toei Studio won't make any difference to DB manga that ended its serialization on 1995 and the anime that had its final episode on January, 1996.

but this meme was made by people so "butt-hurt" that they probably do not care about quality in their jokes / memes but ironically dare to make fun "bad quality"

With the way people act nowadays, I fear that's exactly what we'd get with actual time travel, at least ifit somehow became common-place enough for just anyone to do it. It wouldn't even be something relatively high-minded like the 'what if we killed baby Hitler' debates, no, it'll be some dumbass going 'Hey, let's kill George Lucase before he makes the prequels, Jar Jar can still be stopped!'. Ugh.

Well, that's why time travel stories often use alternate timelines. You can't really go to the past in your own timeline, as you'd cause time paradoxes instantly (being in the past will cause butterfly effects just from the air you displace, so it's a total no-go).
...There's probably some "theoretical time physics" field that tries to make sense of all this, but it's not my field.
