Yup, even though it's Drummond's version everyone is gaga about he has to jump on the band wagon, they hate Sabat's

People at conventions don't seem to notice or care.

Sabat didn't jump on the band wagon. I think people wanted to hear Sabat's attempt at the "over 9000" line. Since Drummond's version is so famous, people want to compare Sabat's version to it (even if they don't like Sabat).Fans like that kind of thing. I think people tend to be a little harsh on Sabat.

Sabat himself seems to have some confusion over the line, in an interview I saw, he seemed under the impression that it came from his line in the re-dub.

The Ocean dub, post Saban days suffers from the lack of a decent Goku . Kelamis has his moments when directed properly, but they lose him. Overall FUNi has a consistently improving Goku. And most new voices in the Ocean group seemed to get worse, while FUNi hired better and better actors (Dameon Clarke, Justin Cook, Chuck Huber, etc). On the flip side, I'll take Scott McNeil, Brian Drummond, and Ted Cole over Chris Sabat x3 any day of the week.

Then again... I'm a damn site away from being a Faulconer fan, outside of a handful of themes, but the Ocean music was just plain ridiculous. Trumped only by the US GT score.

Yeah, he probably didn't even really know. Its easy for us as fans who haunt message boards and youtube to know all this stuff, but Sabat's a pretty busy guy. I seriously doubt he'd even seen the thing on Youtube and maybe just thought people liked the line in general. And maybe he thinks people prefer his more subdued growl of the line of Drummond's yelling of it. I mean, currently-speaking, Sabat still plays Vegeta while Drummond is Death Note's Ryuk. Why would Chris think people would be asking him about something another guy did like a decade ago?

I think that even he doesn't know what the big infatuation with that line is... And I must say, neither do I. Someone told me that it's the way that Drummond said it, where he dragged it out. But he did that a lot.

I was just reading up on the Ocean dub, and read that the VA named Alistair Abell (Future Trunks) was involved in the dubbing of movies 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13, and the Trunks special in a dub called "Westwood dub". I've never heard of this, and there doesn't seem to be any clips around. And apart from Trunks' VA, nobody else from the Ocean group seems to have it in their list of roles. Can anyone tell me anything about this dub?

I don't understand something. When the DBZ credits used to come on, it used to say that Ian Corlett was involved in something else. Even after he left his voicing position. Then on my Dragon Ball DVD, which is done by the Texas group, it had his name listed again. Maybe it's not the same Ian Corlett? Yet that's a huge coincidence.

That's just a mistake at ANN, because every guy can write shit in this database.

I thinik the Westwood Dub is another name for the latter Ocean dub; supposedly because a company by that name commissioned it. Or maybe the Westwood dub is the "MAGIC CLOUD" one?

Ian Corlett did some script writing when he was involved with DB/Z. Since FUNi pretty much reused the scripts from the mid-90's dub when they redid the corresponding DB episodes in 2001, and DBZ in 2005, they left in his name, since he was involved with the original script and therefore had to be credited.

It could also possibly be because they used the same writing credit cards for multiple episodes out of laziness. (IE, take the names of everyone who individually worked on episodes 6-10, group them together, and use that in the credits for 6-10, even though not every one of them necessarily worked on each of those episodes.) But I'm 80% certain the dub uses unique and proper credits for every episode, so I doubt this is the case.

Might of been one of those typos that happened, or keeping the names always. Kinda like how the tv versions of Naruto's credits always credit the voices of Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, even for the episodes that Sasuke and Sakura do not appear in.

A lot of TV shows do it. It's the cast credits but not every member of the cast shows up in every episode. A couple weeks but I was watching Smallville and they credited Erica Durance and Aaron Ashmore even though they didn't show up in a couple of episodes.

Um yeah but the FUNimation post 99 credits are different than the FUNimation pre 99. I mean it's a different song, different everything. And all the current voice actors are credited.

And someone said about how in Naruto they credited voice actors that didn't appear in the episodes. Are you sure they didn't appear? Maybe they did minor characters in a different voice that you wouldn't even notice. Like you wouldn't realize that Stephanie Nadolny voiced anyone in the Great Saiyaman Saga, but she voiced the girl that Gohan went on a date with.

Seasons 1 and 2 were a FUNi/Saban production. Disney bought out Saban. FUNimation, Disney, or Shuki Levi, either one or a pair of the 3 have ownership of the BGM used in Seasons 2. But if I had to guess, judging how Faulconer owns his Dragon Ball Z BGM and sold them on CDs, I'd think Levi owns the Seaons 1 and 2 BGM.

The BGM in the Ocean dubbed 108-276 is all David Iris, John Mitchell, and Tom Keenlyside material recycled from Megaman, Monster Rancher, maybe Hamtaro, and likely other music pieces picked from other shows. There is also the possibility of original pieces created by David Iris, John Mitchell, and Tom Keenlyside just for this Dragon Ball Z dub.

David Iris, John Mitchell, and Tom Keenlyside BGM was probably cheaper than Levi's BGM, Ocean 108-276 dub was a cheap production, with only being able to make money from TV airings, they didn't want to spend a lot of money on a TV only thing.
