Future Trunks says Bulma and Vegeta never got married in his timeline because “you know how my mum can be”
She didn’t marry Yamacha when he suggested it either
And the only time she mentioned it, was when he died and she thought he wasn’t coming back.

Infact i always got the impression, the second Yamacha mentioned settling down and having a baby in the future Trunks arc
That she backed off their relationship pretty quickly.

I took that line to mean Bulma was a nagging person which would explain why Vegeta would rather train in space.

Trunks just means that Bulma's personality would have driven off a Pre Buu arc Vegeta and Yamcha and her didn't fit.

I don't think Bulma ever mentioned she didn't want to get married. In Future Trunks' timeline she just never got around to do it because Vegeta dies before they get close enough for her to consider it. I always liked that Trunks is technically the result of a fling that only later develops into a full fledged relationship. As for her seeming less enthusiastic about marrying Yamcha, I think that was because at that point she had pretty much fallen out of love with him.

Because the character got a reboot sometime in the late Freeza Arc. (You can call it character development if you like) Most of her defining qualities get abandoned in favor of making her less overtly horrible. She's no longer lustful or licentious and becomes way less petty. She also transitions into the group's only sane human and moral center. It was a good change as the new Bulma is still vain enough that her attempts to make the fighters see sense doesn't come off as moralizing. Also, I trust the new Bulma with a child! I cannot say that same about the young girl who shot Goku right between the eyes.

Maybe it's just where I grew up but most people weren't "grown up" until their first kid was two or three years old.

People grow up differently at different times. Needing to have a second or third kid doesn't necessarily force someone to grow up. Hell, some people wait until their late thirties or forties to have kids precisely because they know they cannot financially support them. Then you have some people who can't haaaaave kids but that doesn't mean they [not me] aren't mature.

As stated a lot of people mature differently with kids being the reason. I'm sure Toriyama knew Trunks was about to come into the picture so he had Bulma grow up right before making her a mother.

"Courting" isnt really accurate for Vegeta. Bulma was thirsty, so if anything she went after him.

But wasn't he born out of wedlock? They get married later, but I think initially they didn't even technically live together.
