DBGT "Calculations" DVD

Post by digireign » Sat Jun 19, 2004 7:26 pm

Has anyone else here had problems with the "Calculations" DVD? I've had it for a couple months now, and I've noticed in 4 places it seems to cause different problems based on what DVD player is being used. For example, on one player, it just freezes and only resumes when you skip forward to the next chapter. On a second player, it just reaches that point then skips ahead automatically. On a DVD-ROM (PowerDVD), however, it will skip ahead automatically just a few seconds, making it watchable but still very annoying. One place it does this is during the Gohan v. Rild fight right when Gohan's arm is turned to metal, another is when Goku fights Freeza & Cell, so this happens at some pretty key points in the story, and it bugs the hell out of perfectionist-me.

Waiting for a reply from Funimation saying, "Oh, send your DVD in, and we'll replace it for you at our conveinence A.S.A.P." seems unlikely to occur at this point, mostly because hitting the "Feedback" button on their website has only ever given me a "page is unavailable" message.

So, I was just wondering, does anyone have a DVD that's not defective? (Another was of phrasing this is: "If I go to Best Buy and get another copy will it work or will I be wasting $14?")

P.S. And yes, I know the Super 17 saga was the worst story arc of all time...
P.P.S. And yes, I know Dragon Ball GT isn't real...
P.P.P.S. And yes, I know Gohan couldn't really beat Rild, and base Goku couldn't really beat Freeza & Cell they way he did...

I don't have the same problems with my copy. O.o It must be just yours.

By the way, Gohan didn't beat Rildo - Uub did. And GT is real because DVDs of it exist. :D AF isn't real because, aside from a doujinshi, its existance is questionable and it isn't official in any way, shape or form.

I've never seen this fight (and God willing, never will), but I think base Goku could easily beat Cell by the time GT starts. Though I'm guessing it's more the way he beat him that you think is impractical, which wouldn't surprise me considering GT as a whole is typically impractical and stupid.

I haven't had those problems, and I'll see when I buy the last one if anything weird happens. :)
Yes... I am... but you don't know that...

YES, I have the same issues with my disc. I dunno why some do and some don't, but I just dealt with it.

Base Goku... beat Cell? NEVER. That's an impossiblity. There's no way even a Saiya-jin could have that much power. Not even Goku.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

I have to agree with Xyex on this one, and I always try to avoid that if possible. No matter how powerful "base" Goku is, Cell is always at his highest power level, as if he were transformed all the time.

Cell and Freeza were frozen by an ice machine. Goku shattered the ice. End of story.

And yes, Super Uub (or Majuub, Uubuu, whatever) killed Rilldo the second time.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

That whole fight has to be one of the most boring parts in GT. I just found it really tedious to sit through. Maybeeeeeeeeee because it's been done before? Think I'm right?
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Why? During the Buu Saga, Goku and Vegeta were both probably stronger than Freeza in their normal forms, and it's implied that they're also stronger than Piccolo. Given a few more years, I don't see why they couldn't surpass Perfect Cell.

Yep. I believe Vegeta says something like "If SSJ forms aren't going to be used then I have this tournament won."

I have the same problems with this disc, I've tested it out on 5 different players.
