Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

I just don’t understand how another tournament would work at this point. The Tournament of Power was a battle royale with 80 fighters, and universe ending stakes. How exactly are you supposed to top that? Furthermore, as I asked before, what would be the in-universe basis for another tournament?
Ok this is what we do. We make it all meta, and stuff, and like, They're now fighting for the fate of the franchise.

It baffles me that a talk wanting another tournament is even real. You'd think the very last thing people want is yet another tournament, but nope...

And they dare to call "garbage" when other works try something else.

Instead of having 80 fighters, they can have 25 this time (5 per universe), allowing the 4 new universes to have fully developed characters instead of the cookie cutters we got in the TOP. They can also get rid of the killing rule, allowing everyone to go all out.

Zeno liked the last one, so he wants a new one.

A tournament may not be the most original idea, but it's a very popular one. Look at the TOP's final 2 episodes in South America, they had stadiums filled with 1000s of fans cheering Goku on as if it were a real tournament.

I'd love to see Jump take the concept of Jump Force and turn it into an anime tournament, where all main characters from their franchises battle it out in a massive tournament.

Pretty sure Zeno said at the end that he had a lot of fun that he'd like to make another tournament like the ToP. Plus there were 4 universes which didn't participate in the tournament. I'd prefer another arc like the Zamasu one than a battle royale, but the possibility of a ToP 2.0 arc is definitely there.
At his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

We'll probably get 2 standard arcs after the Moro one before a tournament. If you take Broly and whatever new movie they're currently working on into account, that's 5 stories between the TOP and a potential 3rd tournament.

I just don’t understand why anyone would want another tournament. The Tournament of Power was so long drawn out and tedious that I don’t see how anyone could get excited for another one, especially as a hypothetical finale to Super. That would just be repetitive. Is anyone even clamoring to see what the fighters from those other four universes are like? Does anyone really care about that?

I'd expect it to be better quality. Both tournaments in Super suffered from having next to no good animation in the grande scheme of things. Let Yamamuro Tadayoshi force himself into being the character designer again my sense would be that another tournament would actually be more enjoyable.
Heck, in general I'm here to see the people I like creating more of their usual work. The Tournament of Power definitely sucked as a whole but I can still tell you things I liked about it and would not trade for the erasure of its existence.

No one wants another tournament with 80 cookie cutter fighters that goes on forever. If DB were to have another one, I'd like the number of fighters to be brought down to a manageable number that allows them to be their own characters, not just copies of each other.

What is missing is adventure from the stories... Early Dragon Ball was this Path To Power literally, journey the land for Dragon Balls, fighting strong opponents... There were still some adventure bits in Z, even in GT!
Now it is just brawl fest sadly.

How were they cookie cutter?

... I like tournament arcs...
In all seriousness, after the ToP, Dragon Ball should preferably take a long, long break from them but I wouldn't mind the prospect of another one somewhere down the line. Maybe nowhere near as high stakes as the Tournament of Power, and I like your idea of a non-fighting one.

Apart from a handful, they all had generic designs and personalities. Nothing memorable at all.

Few can remember that many characters, but that's not the aim. But in the episodes they're in, they all had their moments and interesting techniques or strategies. I wouldn't call that cookie cutter.

This topic has been discussed a lot on the forum and in general when old concluded series are revived. I used to want Dragonball to continue indefinitely as a kid. After seeing so many series continue for too long and either get cancelled or suffer a huge drop in quality, I definitely prefer a decent ending than seeing that happen to DB. I believe it could be argued that has already happened either during this revival or towards the end of the original series.
Based on this thread and others I've seen on here, fans all have differing opinions on what's best for the series

. Some believe it should end, some believe it should focus on the next generation, others think it should turn into a franchise that continues indefinitely featuring new characters, etc. I think waiting to see what comes next after the current manga saga will give us a better idea of where the series will go. The manga might end and there's an announcement of a final movie for Toriyama's involvement. The manga could continue until the anime is announced to return. The Moro saga seems like it's near the climax so it only be a few months.

Creatively and quality wise, I think DB peaked with the BOG movie, but I understand why it had to continue from a financial point of view.
With how slow the manga's been moving, I think there's a chance it won't end till October/November, with a new arc being announced at Jump Festa in December.
