Westwood Media [in association with AB Groupe]

AB Groupe was never involved beyond distribution, and later on, providing video masters. It was never "In association with" AB Groupe any more than the BLT dub was "in association with" SeaGull Entertainment, or oldschool Funimation was "in association with" Toonami USA... That's just not how it worked. It's misinformation spread by the Dragon Ball Wiki that just fails to get corrected in most instances.

Additionally, you forgot to mention that Funi's Z dub episodes 54-107 and ~240-250 aired in the UK, and 54-167 aired in Canada.
Though the 54-167 that aired in Canada was a different edit of Funi's dub, produced by Ocean. (108-167 use the exact same video as the Westwood dub of those episodes, in fact)

AB Groupe was never involved beyond distribution, and later on, providing video masters. It was never "In association with" AB Groupe any more than the BLT dub was "in association with" SeaGull Entertainment, or oldschool Funimation was "in association with" Toonami USA... That's just not how it worked. It's misinformation spread by the Dragon Ball Wiki that just fails to get corrected in most instances.

I think the confusion comes from AB Groupe themselves producing the French dub and the "Big Green" dub of the movies. and the Blue Water/Ocean studios dub of Dragon Ball using an awkward Nick Jr sounding English translation of the French dub's opening and an instrumental version of the ending. That Toonami UK apparently wisely removed. It would be like if Saban themselves had produced a Dragon Ball dub for other countries while distributing the Funimation dub in syndication in the US.

No, the Pioneer movie trilogy never aired here sadly. The only versions of the pre-BOG DBZ movies that were broadcast (or released in any capacity before Manga UK picked up the double features in 2017) were the Big Green dubs.

On TV, the only movies we got were Big Green's, three of which were released on DVD about the same time they aired (~2005). The next time we got the movies on home video was DVDs (and/or Blu-rays?) from Funimation. MangaUK didn't bother to throw the Pioneer dubs on.

Yeah.

That, and the misconceptions about who/what Westwood Media is/are/was/were.
Which, for the record: Westwood were essentially a production company associated with Ocean who closed up shop about a decade ago. Not to be confused with the "Westwood studio" in Canada, which is entirely unrelated. But since Westwood Media are now closed, a lot of people google it and assume this Westwood studio is the Westwood that people are talking about, and therefore make the logical leap that AB Groupe must've produced the dub, since Ocean tend not to produce dubs in-house, they tend to get hired by other companies to do recording, etc.
So, it's all just misinformation from assumptions people have made, which is never corrected because all the real information on this has been basically lost or forgotten, and the misinformation tends to make the rounds far more often than the correct info.

Apparently the Pioneer trilogy and the inhouse dub of Lord Slug aired on YTV.

Not sure about how they were presented. Would have either been uncut (unlikely) or Ocean's own edit (plausible).

Wouldn't the airing of the Pioneer dubs of DBZ Movies 1-2 on YTV be the same edited versions that showed on US Toonami and were released on the Rock the Dragon collection, and the airing of DBZ Movie 3 be of the Saban dub?

Also, YTV aired the Funi dubs of the two Z specials and Lord Slug.

Can somebody confirm whether the Pioneer dubs actually aired on Canadian TV? Were they uncut or the same edits that aired on Toonami?

YTV aired the edited Toonami versions of movies 1 and 2, as well as the edited Saban version of movie 3 with Ian Corlett still voicing Goku. These were notable for being among the very few times that we ever actually heard the American version of "Rock the Dragon" play on Canadian airwaves.

YTV also aired FUNi's in-house edited versions of Lord Slug, Bardock: The Father of Goku, and The History of Trunks.

None of the other movies or TV specials ever aired in Canada.
